I'm about to go look at these rims and tires Monday, for a 68 Charger. The seller is asking $600, which seems reasonable to me. Just wanted to check with someone else first to be sure. Unfortunately, this is the only pic I have.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Rob

I paid $1150 for my set of 15" mag 500's all new stuff from Summit 15x8's wheels, MT 245 /6s0x15 tires, center caps and chrome valve stems. so $600 would be a hell of a deal even if the tires don't have much left.

They're 14-inch. I wanted 15s, but I figured it was a good enough deal to go with 14s for now. I also thought I may end up liking the 14s anyway.

If you do a future disc brake swap up front with most calipers the 14's will be too small...

the 15 inch magnums are better looking on mopars.mopars are big cars and the little 14 inch tire on that big car to me look out of place, i have seen 15 inch magnum wheels on ebay for 650.00,granted you have to buy your tires.i am going to buy only 15 inch wheels for my car when times come.but you have to do what you think is right good luck.

What these guys just said. The 14's are not popular as the 15's are, thus the cost. If you're ok with the 14's maybe offer a lower $$ ? I don't know if there's a stampede out there for 14's, unless somebody knows otherwise ?

These are Road Wheels and not Magnum 500's. If you look closely you can see the trim rings. Road Wheels were available in 1969.

Concur these cars look better with 15" wheels. Those are original Chrysler corp or Ford Road Wheels (Ford had 7" versions but I think they were all chrome) and use trim rings since they aren't completely chromed. The Chrysler wheels came in 5.5" and 6" widths. I think the seller is a little high personally and have seen 14" set's with decent tires on our own ad pages for $375-$400. Depends on how good the tires and trim rings are to determine if they're worth the extra couple of bills.

If you get your future disc brakes, if you even plan to do that the RAM MAN has setups that fit 14" factory wheels.

I sold my 15's with Rubber for around that price.. as stated if you're ever interested in discs look for 15's

it would cost you a bit more to piece a set together. a set of trim rings would run 150 bucks by themselves

The guy actually said they were off a 69 Dodge, so that sounds about right. I did some research and it seems the term "Magnum 500" didn't surface till later. They were all called Road Wheels with variations of Chrome, Aluminum, etc. Sound right?

I'm still stuck on the 14 vs. 15 issue though. The project is a resto, and the car definitely came with 14s. I'll see what the seller's best offer is.

Thanks for the help. I'll post a picture of the car if I slap them on.

I just scored 5 magnum 500 painted wheels and repainted them in argent silver w/ satin black. paint & mats. $60.00 wheels $25.00 ea. and they look great

I got a 15" set off ebay from a '68 for the same price, had BFG's mounted...I had looked for a year, almost bought new reproductions but got lucky.

The ones I have do say "Magnum 500" on the center caps with crossed checkered flags. Seller claimed they were from 68 sport satellite, but I cant verify originality. Either way I would buy them in that condition.
