Hello, any body able to measure the distance for placing 1970 GTX side emblems on new rear quarters...I can do it from pictures but an accurate measurement from a known original location would be cool thanks. Also can anybody come up with a measurement for the remote mirror control on the driver side inside door on the woodgrain metal trim piece on the doors interior location.....thanks again

I asked this same question a while ago but no reply. then I remember that hey ive got my old quarter panel in my shed but its to cold to go check it right now so ill be checking it in a month or 2 if you still don't have the measurements i'll let you know where the holes go

Have you not got the holes for the GTX emblem? I will try to get a picture and measurements tonight for you. Also worth noting that some cars had the internal remote mirror control mounted on the door card, and some I have seen were on the upper door frame face just under the 1/4 window.

Couple of pics to get you started....

Located on factory made holes.
Pics to come soon of interior remote mirror control stud

Original, unmolested quarter. An even 3" from quarter panel scoop (not the scoop insert) to the center of the hole and what seems to be the vertical dead center of the scoop. The second hole should be easy to measure if you have the emblem, just ensure that the emblem is level. Picture is off the right side (obviously). Hope this helps:

I would appreciate it. I have not seen any remotes any where but on the woodgrain/ chrome trim piece. Id like to put it there, but want to make sure its in the right spot. There are no holes in either but the door cards could be new as they are in great like new condition along with the seats covers when I bought it.

Thanks, can you measure the left (drivers) side also if possible? Ive got both emblems and because the studs are on the curve of G in GTX and one on the cross of the X in GTX. If I just measure 3 inches back on both sides the emblem will be closer to the scoop on the drivers side then the passenger side? Thanks again just want to get it right before I go drilling holes....peace

I'll measure the drivers side after supper and once the kids are put to bed.

Alright, here it is. The hole measures approximately 1-1/8" from the side of the scoop. The hole does not appear to be aligned with the center of the scoop so I attempted to measure it with a thin metal ruler forced as best I could into the contours of the panel. The distance I measured is 10". I hope that you can make use of these numbers.

Thanks for starting this thread Zippy. I will be needing these measurements soon for my GTX. I'd forgotten to take them from the original panels when I had the bodywork done. Thanks again to Baller and Kiwi. Well done. :VB toast:

Thanks for the measurements, I actually am needing (wanting) this as well. Not nearly as critical for a four door gtx wannabe, but it still has to look right!
