how is the finish. is it pitted, painted parts peeling. can you post close up pics

yes there is pitting, one small dent in the upper left. I'll try to get some close up pics up yet tonight.

Humor me for a minute, here's what I'm thinking. My panel has the majority of pitting in the middle parts that are painted that silver argent color. The actual chrome you see is passable. The sport satellite emblem is in good shape. What i was thinking is if a sand/grind down the pits, fill them in with something, say JB weld, sand and paint,i might have a nice looking panel. Maybe not perfect but i dont have close to a grand for a reproduction. Any thoughts?????

Talk to 5.7 hemi on this board he is the master at re-finishing grills and trim there are many satisfied board members who have had work done by him. you can see the quality of his work in threads also on this board

The painted areas are pretty clean actually. And I misspoke the damaged area is the lower left not the upper left. I can't seem to add pictures to this thread so if anyone would like close up shots please PM me. Thanks
And as for the fixing the old one, i would find mopar stuart and buy one of his. I got mine from him, the are NOS and are very nice for the money. I think I saw he is getting around 500 apiece for them now. He has a half dozen last I knew. I was VERY happy with mine.

If he is the same person selling them on moparts he states in the ad THEY ARE NOT PERFECT in his own words.

NOT PERFECT and very nice are different. The ones he is selling are very nice. If they were perfect (nos) they would probably be $900+.

spot on, I ordered one of the new repops, and sent it back. When I got it brand new and had almost as much pitting as my 44 year old one, a flaw in the casting process I was told. So I returned it and then had to call my credit card company to get my money back from the dealer. The one I got from Stuart was much nicer than the repop's available now (I did get the first one of the lot, so mine was pretty nice). Do as you wish, but the NOS ones that Stuart has are pretty nice for the price. If you want very nice, spend 2000.00 and you get what you pay for.

Just to clarify, my comment was on the quality of 5.7 Hemi's work, and the condition of the NOS ones. If 5.7 got his hands on one of these it would be show quality.
Mopar Stuart just is a go between for the guy in Venezuela who is selling these

NOS deck lid finish panels to 69 sport satellites ( will work to GTXs with small finish mods ) I found locally and what were sent to USA KANSAS, from Venezuela, to be sold and shipped from there.

to be sold in more less $500 each, except some exceptions what could be less ( $300-400 ) or more ( $600 ). Contact for specific price with the number of panel you see on album

NONE OF THEM is on PRISTINE conditions to a TRAILER QUEEN CAR, if you ask me ( I'm VERY VERY critical with this ), but some of them are really close to that, and pits are allmost unnoticeable, unless a close up

They still have the original boxes ( except one ), althought not in perfect conditions.

PICS OF EACH PIECE:

numbers 3, 4, 5, 11 and 12 were sold!

Payment conditions:

Shipment $30 in Money Order to MoparStuart ( a well known member of the Mopar comunity ) who is who is helping me on ship these from his place, and pay for the panel to me throught paypal, AS A GIFT to sway paypal fees.

Buy with confidence
