I have a 1966 Dodge Charger restoration project that I am financially unable to complete. The car was originally a 318 automatic car, and was originally from California. The bodywork and paint was professionally performed. The unibody was completely disassembled and media blasted down to bare metal. The body is extremely solid; the only metalwork needed was to replace the spare tire well in the trunk floor. All the floor pans, trunk floor, rockers, doors, quarters, fenders, hood and trunk are original sheet metal. Included with the car are many, many new, reproduction and original parts – many of them are VERY hard to find. If you have any questions about what IS or ISN’T included, please ask. I have hundreds of pictures, if there is anything in particular you want to see – please ask. If I don’t already have a photo, I will take one for you. This car has been my passion for many years, and I hate to sell it. Due to financial hardship, it is time for someone else to own this beautiful car and see it through to completion. Of course, if you just want it for parts – that is your call. I can’t bear to part it out myself!

If I could get $6K for the whole lot, I would probably go for it. If not, I may wait until summer and part it out - NOT my first choice! (I think if I were to part it out, there are probably $7-10K worth of parts alone if someone were willing to go that route.)

The car is a roller, and can be trailered. You will want to plan for many boxes of carefully stored parts, as well as glass.

Looks way too nice to be parted out.
Needs the Hemi drive line from the burned one on E-Bay

That is a great start for someone, I know the metal repairs and paint on mine will be twice that figure.

Sorry to see you have to sell your project. It looks like a screaming good deal!
I'll post a link over at 66-67Charger.

Sweet charger, how old is the body work? Love the color. Mine has a lot of rot on the back windshield, did you have to repair any of the back windshield area? I agree, don't part-it out! I would be better off buying you car, than the price of the body work and paint job for mine. Thanks for posting. P

The bodywork was completed about 8-9 years ago, and has been in a garage and covered ever since then. The ONLY metalwork needed was replacement of the spare tire well, which had pinhole rust at the lowest point. The rockers, doors, quarters, etc. is 100% steel.

As of today, the car appears to be sold! I am going to leave this up until the check clears, but for all intents & purposes, this car has a new owner!

Thanks for looking everyone!

Congrats on the sale. Is the car staying local?

I just saw this post now over at 66-67charger.com. If your sale doesn't go through, let me know. I would be interested in taking it off your hands for sure.

Shane.

This is as close to a deja vu episode as you can get! Looks exactly like my project when I bought it 4 years ago.

Welcome Shane!

I am the new owner of this 66 Charger. This project looks right up my ally. I am happy to find this car, but also sad for my friend Troy. I will post pictures as this car progresses. We are just caretakers of history. None of us really ever own these cars, we just take care of them until the next caretaker comes along. They will be here long after ALL of us are long gone.

Congrats on the purchase, you got an amazing deal. Good that it is going to a good home. Sad when a project ends for someone...but important that it gets to carry on.

I wish I could have started with that, it would have been done instead of waiting at the painters like mine :(

Very good buy and gorgeous paint choice.

I am very excited to get started. I love the Color that Troy picked.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! This will NOT be my last Mopar! I am determined to fix my financial situation and get back in the market for another car - hopefully another 66 Charger! Congrats to the new owner, and I can't wait to see what you do with it. Looking forward to the pictures!
