I know it takes a -12 an fitting but is milodon's pickup machined for it's own 90 degree bulkhead -12 an with o ring or will any -12 an 90 work?
Chris,
They take a 90 deg. with a bulk head on one end with a jam nut. You use the O ring on the pick up side between the block and the pan, then use the jam nut to tighten it up to the pan on the outside. Make sure to use silicone on the outside behind the jam nut.
You can get gasket washers at the parts store to use behind the jam nut if you don't want to use silicone. Makes for a cleaner job but either will work.
Check and see if there pipe thread ?
I ran into a fitting the other day that had SAE male to NPT female. Could it be that?
Did you get this figured out yet?
YES, I just bought the milodon fittings and they work. fragola's didn't. at this point, all I cared was that the threads engaged correctly. guess we'll never know what the deal was . unfortunately, the fittings were twice the price.
now I need one of those windage trays.
as long as you have the clearance under it so as not to suck to the pan you should be good to go .
Look rite from what I can see.
I would think the oil would slam the door closed before that happens ? But if I am ask Why run a Swinging pick up in that style pan ?
That pan has the doors and baffles to keep a static pick up coverd .
I never used a swinging pick up as I alway baffeld the pan to keep the oil where it need to be.
