Hey guys! I've been a member for quite some time but never been active. I am building a '66 Charger that I pulled from a restful slumber in a barn back in '03. It doesn't appear much better, but I have been focused on mechanical repair and restoration. Still gotta do my cosmetics, but the interior is almost finished and it's time to do the engine. The farmer I had bought this car from rebuilt the original 361 , then let it freeze and the block cracked BAD. Luckily it seems to be all external cracks so I've been able to patch it occasionally and keep driving it. Runs like a champ! I have grown up working on Mopars and Fords. Just never got the chance to build one of my own until I finally landed this one. I'm glad I finally got one.

Welcome, as a 66 Charger owner I can appreciate how long a resto takes on one of these. Good luck with the build!

welcome to FBBO

Welcome from another '66 owner. Post up some pictures if you get a chance.

Light turquoise big block a/c car...NICE.

Nice! Drive the freakin wheels off that thing. Great wheel/tire combo.
My seats looked a lot like yours (before shot) and got tired of sitting on springs so I freshened the interior on mine last winter. Rebuilt some gauges, new front seat upholstery, seat foam. Sprayed the original rears to freshen them. Was going to put carpet in too but the money was running out so I just painted my old stuff. Now its like riding in a new car.
Keep up the good work!

very nice looking 66 great color combo thanks for sharing

One thing you will never see out of me is a bunch of retro-mods. I like to keep mine somewhat era-specific. I'll update the things that make my car more user friendly in today's traffic and that's about it. Big, giant wheels, late model drivetrain, and fuel injection ain't my style. That just takes away from owning a "vintage" automobile IMO. If I want modern technology I will drive the wife's Chrysler.

Oh yeah! Replacing the carpet in these will set you back for sure! It's similar to buying property! They should measure it in "acres"!

Very Cool!! I like the Disc brake setup!!

Welcome aboard!!

Welcome....
im with you on keeping these gems as original as possible, with the caveat that it's all there to begin with, or a specialty high performance model (SuperBee or R/T)....
IMHO, if someone goes through the trouble of resurrecting a base model small block shell, the sky's the limit.
