Hello, I was wondering if anybody on here could help me build a rotisserie for my 73 Charger. Just wondering if anybody had some plans to share that I could go by.

Thanks

Hey Travis ,
I have a set of plans and a rotisserie you can have a look at.

I built my own but leant it to a friend to use so no pics. They're not hard to build you just want to have plenty of adjustment for getting the cars weight balanced and not on a bind. Big casters are a huge plus as well. One problem you might run into is getting tubing that will slide over another for the different movable attachments, they usually have weld seams or just don't fit. What we did is make a slug with a cutter built into it that when pressed threw the tube it would remove the weld and size the tubing for a good fit. I'll look for some old pics

The one thing I did different on my rotisserie was to make a loop on each side where the car hooks on and made a steel pulley adaptor for the top post of the rotisserie, in other words I don't use a jack I simply take my portable 110 volt winch and loop the cable over the pulley and pull the car up one side at a time. It takes no effort at all and is so much faster than all that blocking and messing with a jack.

I have a new concept in the rotisserie world you might be interested in called "Roller Hoop" i'm a body restoration shop in Neb. and came up with this design for use in our busy shop. After using my prototypes my guys threw out the end mount units! So now I'm building and selling these great rotisseries to car restoration guys all around the world. I know this sounds like a sells pitch but I have much more interest in seeing all you guys have a much more enjoyable, & safer experience with better results in restoring classic Mopars. So now as of today we are looking to offer the Roller Hoop in a lower $ kit form in which you can save big $ and have some of the fun of cutting and welding some basic parts together and be up and rolling in now time! Just a thought for you to consider we will also looking to join in on this site as a sponsor as soon as I can figure out who to contact.

I saw your rig Doug. Very cool. My fear has always been dropping a car on it's top or side. This idea helps protect it.

Yes it is safe for both the body shell and the craftsmen doing the restoration work that Super bee was a great project for the Roller Hoop since the rear frame rails were rusted away. it actually was enjoyable to rebuild the bottom side of that car. P1010002.JPG and here is a picture of it getting blasted the guys at the media blasting Love this new set up!

back in the shop on the roller base units it metal work time! then paint bottom side, you can see with the brakes locked it is pretty solid to the ground this is great for when your cutting prying , sanding etc. Just thought some of you might like to see this. I also want to point out notice the rear package try still retains the original factory original paint, even though I had the body shell media blasted as necessary, Please do not blast off all the original paint in hidden areas like this! I see so many guy ruin the originality of a classic by blasting every thing possible! it is unnecessary plus it is extra work and materials and you can never show someone see this is the original color! sprayed on at the factory! Just one of my pet peeves! plus i even save some of the factory runs in the door jamb and on the fire wall my media guy thinks I'm nuts because most all other guys just say blast it all off! Oh I cringe when i see that happen. if it ain't broke don't fix it! P1010001.jpgSDC10795.jpgSDC10974.jpgSDC11046.jpg

Wow that's mind blowing. I'm going to make a home made one as I'm on a bit of a budget. Looks like a great product though.
