I bought this from an insurance company recently, that lost a battle with a dump truck.48k actual car, slant six stick. I needed the engine mainly for my 66' GT. Look what the hit did to the pressure plate! Lots of good parts, though. 044.JPG048.JPG045.JPG047.JPG

I know some people looking for the hood letters if you want to get rid of them.

Please list as many items and prices as possible Monaco. Bigger ticket or major items anyway.

Cranky has a 4 door 66 so I'll shoot him a PM

Actually, I have 2 2dr post 66 Belvederes......but I've never seen a relatively mild hit break a pressure plate....

Is the bumper jack post still in it? Would be interested if price is right

The car was moving at 40mph or so, and it was a sudden jolt. After the accident, the guy started it up and started home. He was then run off the road into a cement barrier on the Interstate a half hour later. What luck! I think the sudden twisting, and trying to restart it pushed it over the edge. The engine is great, don't know about the transmission.
that is the main thing. I will keep everyone's emails when the time comes to part it.

Exactly what I was thinking. And is that P plate even out of that car? Looks like too much RPM found a flaw in the P plate. When round disc things break they always break in three pieces.

Your probably right, the hit cracked it, and the guys Insistence on moving the car finished it off. When I got it I started it for just a second until I heard the racket. it stopped shortly there after. But the engine wasn't hurt. So Now the little GT will have a new heart!

Truly sad to see another 4 door go down :(
Are you going to try fixing her or you going to part it out?

No,the body is bent, right front is taller than the left. I was worried about the crank and mains as well. It is an actual 48k engine, So I freshened it up, got it running good, and ran it on high Idle a bunch, hours at a time. for a couple weeks. Even at -10 degrees. I kept Rotella in it, and observed. They are one tough little engine. Day after day, even when it hit 60 degrees outside, no overheating. It never smoked ,no blowby, no noise, spooky. it would start before I could let off the key. 110 lbs compression on all six hot after running at 2,000 rpm for two hours. That's all a guy can do, I guess. I will be parting it out, in order to help another that may be in better shape. I am keeping the column and gearbox, as the 440 with headers in my other 66' hit my power steering box, and I can't bring myself to taking a hammer to a nice set of Hooker competition headers, at least not yet. That's another story, But I don't see any other way to deal with the banging of the header on the box. very Irritating it is.

I'd sure be interested in buying the right front fender when you part it out!

046.JPG047.JPGI'm sorry, I haven't looked at the pot, as I didn't think anyone was much Interested in the four door. I have kept the PM's, and will be parting the car. Lets see, the passenger fender is perfect, no rust like new. Trunk lid like new. right rear door, very Bad! HA. That clutch Indeed came out of that car.The rear bumper is driver quality, with a smallish dent where somebody bumped a light pole or something. Fender tag is there, the car was originally beige with tan Interior. Many Interior parts are nice, But I'm saving the dash, sort of an Insecurity thing going on. I have a nice Yellow 66', and I have to pigeon hole some parts, for no particular reason! The best news was the engine. I also have a 67' Belvedere one four door, slant six and three on the tree, and rubber floors. 50k actual, not driven since 1986. White, just like Adam 12! It needs brakes, shocks, tires, and exhaust. All this work was just done to the red one just before it got hit. No bumper jack, I think the tow truck guy absconded with it. Neatest hubcaps though, I'm putting 15' wheels on my 440 coronet, so I like the original look.

I'm curious if this is the same car before paint and collision. There can't be that many '66 wht/red 4 door Coronets running around Omaha

Not likely the same car, as mine was an original beige car, and sharp.. The car in the picture is way past that. and has a very old red paint job. Did you get an under the hood picture? That would tell me more. mine clearly was a low mile unit.

monaco66coupe can you tell me what tire size and rims size you have on that nice yellow 66.Thanks
