Need front grill for 68' GTX!!

Good luck on those..

As far as I have been able to search, nobody re-pops the grill. The tail panel is available through a couple of retailers, but $750-$1000+. If you do get a re-pop tail panel, be sure, if you are doing the tail light surrounds, to get them from the same place so the color matches.

How bad is yours? Post some pics so I can see it. Also have you tried eBay?
 
You are right I haven't found any repops of the grill I know its gonna be a hunt looking for one!

The problem I have is the 68' I just picked up is an original GTX but it was wrecked and instead of fixing it right the guy I got it from just threw a 68' satellite front clip on it so I don't even have a gtx grill for it! And the trunk panel trim I have is really pitted and I don't think it can be recromed !

So it's a regular sat grill and not a sport sat I take it. Sport Sat grill would be the same to widen your search a little
 
Those are the two worst items you could possibly need for a 68 GTX. I have seen repoped tail panels for around $1200.00. I have also seen restored grills at Carlisle show. They were about the same price. You will eventually find them, but you need to be patient. Good luck.

thanks for the heads up on the ebay grille ! took it up to 360 and didn't meet the reserve! made what I thought was a fair offer after the auction closed but never got a response back !
 
I was bidding on the same grill. I sent the guy a message that if his reserve wasn't to bad would purchase it.

well here is the low down on the gtx grill. this belongs to friend of
family and I am trying to sell this for him but am at a loss at a fair
price. he told me bout 4-5 years ago he was offered $900 for it. I have
looked for repro grills and found none, only the outer chrome strips. the
others I have seen have been for other models of same year car and have
been very high priced badly damaged.

I don't believe the grill was worth this as bad as it was broken. IMHO.
So take a guess at what his reserve might have been...

im guessin that he was some where in the 750-850 range if he thought it was worth 900 bucks 5 years ago ! that's way off price wise can buy a totally restored one at most big mopar meets or that nationals !! I was willing to go 550 on that one on ebay thought that was a fair price seeing it had no badge and the cracks !! O well the hunt continues !!
 
They are out there just keep checking ebay and the mopar sites.I have a few grille bars left if you find one with a few breaks.I do have a well used tail panel but it is pitted up bad.
 
There are a few issues with the grill. First, the stainless is re-popped but the grill itself is not. If the grill isn't hard enough to find the hardest parts to locate are the "C" shaped brackets that hold the grill and stainless together. I have a nice grill and brackets I would consider selling. I also have a couple "decent" GTX tailpanels. Send me a PM and we can discuss. Thanks!
 
this post isn't meant to turn, but is the 69' GTX/ Satellite the same availability Issue?
 
if you don't mind me askin', what did you pay for the grille?
