Need your help, guys. Kind of informal questionnaire, but curiosity's got me. Nothing scientific about it and in no way definitive.

Some of you know I'm sitting on a '69 Sport Satellite 4-door, factory 383-4bbl. Everything is number's matching and the only major factory part missing is the carb (long story).

A buddy of mine and I went over his books from Govier and the numbers for the 4 door weren't listed at the time. All the other body styles on the Sport Satellite, VIN code "H" showed between 30-35 being built in '69. I'm assuming (yeah, I know) about the same amount for the 4 door.

So, assuming 30-35 "H" code 4 doors being built in '69 how many left?

Have you ever seen an "H" code '69 4 door Sport Satellite? In my search for parts over the past few years I've talked to folks in the Mopar circles who claim they've never seen a Sport Satellite 4 door with the 383 4bbl.

I get the money around and I'll start a search through some of the registries to see if they ever registered one, but for now, I'm starting the search an informal way.

Quick answer: No, never seen one. Worked on these cars back when they were New/used cars, never came across one. I would've thought this combo didn't exist. 2-barrel, yeah... but never a 4-hole. Nice rare sleeper you got. (By the way, hope you're doing well... the one's we miss are always on our minds... )

I'm finding out this car is more rare than I thought it, even taking into account the (assumed) production numbers. As such, it's becoming more and more of a priority for me to find out just how rare.

It'll never be a "glamour" car, but it's definitely a unique piece of Chrysler history. And to think my old man bought this car when I was sixteen for $300 cash and blown 454.

I'm doing well, thanks for asking. Life is progressing. A few bumps and valleys along the way, but my mindset is definitely on the uptick.

They were made,
a friend had a 69'coronet 500 four door with the H code. the cops bought a bunch of them. if the engine was put in Chrysler sedans, they were an option on b bodies as well. That is a very rare care though! I would really like to see it.

A buddy of mine has a 69 Satellite (not sure if it's a sport but I doubt it) with 318 3 speed on the tree and NO options. Even has the radio delete plate and rubber floor mats but it has all of the exterior trim that a Satellite comes with.

I wish I had kept my first charger. 1968, dark green, Green vinyl top, green Interior. power steering, brakes, and A/C. With the 318 V8, and the three speed manual on the tree. I paid $400.00 for it in may of 1974 in Phoenix, at the Intersection of central and Mcdowell rd.

This is good to hear.

I've seen a 67 H code 4 door Coronet 440. Engine size call-outs on the fenders and everything

There is pretty much no way to tell how many are "left" with out knowing the exact history of each and every car built.

That's a tall order for cars where only 3 or 4 were built, let alone dozens, or hundreds.

A lot weird old stuff ordered back "in the day" I had a friend order a 396 caprice wagon/with 4 speed & goodies etc......and B/4 that a 1960 348 4bbl 3speed/overdrive manual trans' Biscayne Wagon, Black with black steels'&dog dish....
BTW; he had a body shop.
I could go on...but anything was possible...:icon_sunny:

Like I said, it's an informal thing, just to see if anyone's seen one in their travels, either through shows, junkyards, perusing the internet. I know in order to narrow it down to a more scientific method will take a lot more research, this is trying to get a feel for what's out there, and, maybe draw someone forward who has this cars sister.

When your dad bought it,
it had a 454 in it????

At the Father's Day Mopar show in Columbia, MO there was a Satellite 4 door that was a factory 383, 4 speed. It wasn't there last year but I saw it there for a couple of years. Dumb me didn't get a pic. I think it was a plain Satellite, not a Sport.

No, when Pop bought it he gave $300 and a blown 454 for it.

I don't remember the exact numbers from Govier's books on the production numbers for Belvederes and Satellites, but I do remember they were in the thousands. More than likely thanks to police orders.

Neat and rare car. Had a chance years ago to buy a 70 Sport Satellite Wagon that came from the factory with a 383HP Pistol grip 4-speed. Wish now i would have bought it. Good luck with your research and documentation
