New guy here from NJ. Looking for my dads first car, a 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner, Petty Blue exterior, white interior. VIN# RM21H3R189018. Vehicle had a 340 motor with an auto trans. I have one picture of the car for now, my mother is helping me locate others. He sold the car in 1979 to a student (name unknown at this time) of his when he was a teacher in Franklin, NJ at Franklin High School.

I'm piecing together more info on the car and will post as I find it. Any help as far as how to look for it, or if anyone knows of any hidden away in a barn, would be greatly appreciated.

I think your VIN is wrong.

5th Digit should be an "H" if it's a true 340 car (A is a six cylinder, and not available in that body).

The 'R" indicates it was made in Canada, if that helps.

Ya know, when I was doing a vin decoder I found online it was saying the motor was unknown. The vin i have i got off of an insurance card needed to cross into Canada when my dad went there for a trip. Who knows if They wrote it down wrong. But definitely a possibility. You would probably know better then I would. Do you have a website i can verify that with? Cause that would explain a lot..lol

Just found one and checked. Thank you so so so much. That was a BIG problem. lol

good luck with your search, welcome to FBBo

Best of luck tracking the car. I had a 74 and sold it years ago. Wish I knew where it is now or even if it's still around.
