I bought this cam kit in 1992 when i was building the engine for my GTX. We installed it at 2 degrees advanced. I also bought the same small block kit for a 340 Dart i owned at the time. I remember having to do some weirdness on the advance to make the Dart run correctly, like maybe installing it at 4 or 6 degrees advanced? The Dart is long gone and the question is about the 440 install. Does anyone have anything they can share? I have not run this engine yet and want to get all the bugs worked out before i repaint it and put it in my GTX. I have a Coronet to put it in that i'll be using as a test mule to sort everything out. Or should i buy the Mr Sixpack cam???
specs:
Advertised Duration: 280°/280°
Centerline: 110°
Lift: .474"/.474"

pretty sure that '993 cam already has 4 degrees advance ground into it. i wouldn't do 2 more. if your running cast exhaust manifolds the mr. 6-pak cam might drive a little nicer and be easier to tune. probably depends on the total combination which is best.

This is the redesign version of the old street hemi grind that came out in the 80's. It's a good cam and I would install it straight up, but do check the intake centerline and set as per instructions. The 110 deg number is the LSA not the ICL.

Its supposed to be installed at 106 degrees ATDC. Can't remember where i set it...

Rather have a cam installed 2* advanced over what the card says vs 2* retarded....

I just ordered a .545 lift cam from Comp Cams for $145.00 to go with my Edelbrock top end kit. Duration on it is listed at 285/297 and the separation angle is 110 degrees. Unsure at this point how it will work out.

After searching i found my notes where we degree'd it and its 106. Thanks for the replies.

Yes it is. I bought mine after having so much trouble with my 340 cam install.

I know a lot of people that learned the hard way. I degree in all cams no matter how small.....
