Looks to me like you have all the hard work finished. Financially, you're not doing that bad. I'd finish it for the self gratification. Jmho

It's looking great, I'm not a fan of Silver, but that's just my preference. I'd really encourage you to finish it. You done a lot and it just need to be put together. That's just my opinion, but you can finish it.

You have a really great car there 65nutcase. I assume you built it to cruise in and enjoy driving. Why don't you take a year off it? Put a cover over everything so you don't even look at it. The break may help you rekindle your passion. It would be a shame to have done all the hard work and not enjoy the fruits of your labor. My $0.02. Good luck with whatever you decide.

That's what I was thinking. You're not even close to being *** deep into a great looking car. I agree - cover it up and take a year off if you are burnt out.,

Two things, if I had the money I would be all over that deal! Second, don't sell it, you will hate yourself later. I have a 65 Cobra rep that I have been building for 10 years now. I pull it out and work on it for a few months then I need to tuck it away and work on something else for a bit. One day I'll get it done but I'm just not going to push it to the point that it's not fun. Some of these cars are really big projects. What you have going on there is one fine car, all the details you are doing takes a lot of time and energy. Give it a rest and do something that's fun for a while. Before long you will want to get back on it. Enjoy life and love what you do.
Where are you in PA? I'm just over the MD line near Hanover PA.

Stay with it, if not you will regret it. I have a 70 Z28 that I bought in 1984. Raising a family and educating kids the car was on hold many different times, but I covered it and continued when I found time and money. I thought I would never complete it, but I finally finished it in 2011 after 27 years! Now I have a 65 Belvedere II to do ( I ordered a new '65 Belvedere II with big block 4 speed and was sorry that I let it go in 1968). At this stage in my life, I will finish it a lot quicker.

I agree with what many of the others have said: Take a break and hold on to it for a bit. You have put a lot of work into the car and you might just be a bit burnt out on it. Give it a rest for a bit.

Once you start back up give yourself small projects: One at a time that you celebrate once you finish. I am only on my fourth restoration, but keeping your eye on the finish line can make a project seem endless. Instead focus on how cool a part looks now that it is installed.

The other thing I have had to do on ALL my restorations is lower my expectations that each part be perfect when it goes back on the car. I always seem to start with this level of perfection that I want but can never really achieve. In the end, I end up reinstalling parts that may not be quite perfect. OK, so my brake pedal is not painted and looking like new - who cares? In the end, I end up getting the car back together and enjoying the heck out of it. Perfection is for museum cars - otherwise, don't worry about it!

Good luck whatever you decide.

How long have you been at it. It took me 5 years and i,m still not completely done.I was where youre at and told myself two bolts a day.Very easy to install two bolts but its progress. Most days two led to more. GLWYS if thats what must be though.

Have to agree with the rest - it would be a shame to not finish and enjoy the car after getting it this far. Didn't your wife pick the colour out? Summer's gonna be here...cover the car and start again in fall.

sell if your heart is not into it....get rid of it...only you know when to throw in the towel and it seems you are there now...

Take advantage of all that this forum has to offer, read up on other that are doing the same thing, see them work through one small accomplishment at a time, go out and set your site on a task, take pictures, get the thing done, post the pictures and let the group help to motivate you to go to the next step ! Some of the restorations that are going on in this forum are nothing short of AMAZING . . . and to see them post some of their accomplishments can do nothing but help get you motivated . . .

If that's not in the cards . . . put the cover on it and take a break . . .

The guys and gals on this forum are great people . . . and a few kinds word once in a while sure helps the "want" to get on with the next task . . . THANKS FBBO ! ! !

Either way . . . in the end, you'll have a GREAT car and you'll be happy that you stuck with it ! ! !

Step 1). Restore car.
Step 2). Assembly is reverse of disassembly.
Seems overwhelming, huh. If you're truly burned-out on the car and the project is irretrievably stalled, then sell it. Seems a shame to get rid of such a nice car when you're 2/3 of the way through it, but there's no shame in it. You know your situation better than anyone else so you know what is the right thing to do. I agree with pretty much everyone else here....if its possible, take a break. If that's not a good scenario for you then best of luck with the sale. Hopefully you can get all or at least most of your money back and get into something else you may like better.

Now you guys got me second guessing ! That's not how it's supposed to work . Thanks guys !

I spent over 6 years on my early b, everyday, weekend, non stop. I did get frustrated at times, it's gonna happen, my better half, co-workers and family couldn't believe I was ALWAYS working on it. Don't get me wrong, I did take care of household stuff first, but then right back to the car....so I do get that you "TIRED, BURNT".....take a break and come back to it when your ready.
