I hope this doesn't seem like a stupid question but im finally trying to install the console in my 67 coronet. When I lay the console in place. I can line up the back holes and the middle holes in the console to the mounting brackets and that seems to line up pretty good.
my question is on the front bracket. On the passenger side it bends down or goes vertical and looks like a good place to put a screw through the console into the bracket, but there is no hole in the console for screw in that area, yet on the drivers side there is a clearly formed slot in the console that looks like it should get a screw but the bracket doesn't turn downward on that side it just has a horizontal area with a hole.

am I missing something obvious? Like is there another bracket that bolts to that bracket?

also it seems when the console is layed in place, when I put the shifter forward it hits the top plate almost like the console should go forward more. Maybe that's just a matter of adjusting the shifter linkage so the shifter leans back a bit more?

any help would be really appreciated!!,

thanks

I have had a couple of 69 console cars, and neither of them had a screw on the pass. side front mount.

Thank you! It looks like the front mount was welded in backwards. It makes sense now.

An unrelated question but it looks like you have a new shift mechanism. Mine is pretty sloppy and i removed the console to inspect this weekend. The shifter will wobble to the right excessively and i wonder if it is just shot. (appears to be original to the car)

Just wondering if you experienced similar with your ride. Id just go buy the darn thing but i hate to waste 200 bucks.
