I hope this doesn't seem like a stupid question but im finally trying to install the console in my 67 coronet. When I lay the console in place. I can line up the back holes and the middle holes in the console to the mounting brackets and that seems to line up pretty good.
my question is on the front bracket. On the passenger side it bends down or goes vertical and looks like a good place to put a screw through the console into the bracket, but there is no hole in the console for screw in that area, yet on the drivers side there is a clearly formed slot in the console that looks like it should get a screw but the bracket doesn't turn downward on that side it just has a horizontal area with a hole.
am I missing something obvious? Like is there another bracket that bolts to that bracket?
also it seems when the console is layed in place, when I put the shifter forward it hits the top plate almost like the console should go forward more. Maybe that's just a matter of adjusting the shifter linkage so the shifter leans back a bit more?
any help would be really appreciated!!,
thanks
