MATS 2014 Dates - Be There!!!

I just received confirmation this morning of the dates for the 2014 Moparty At The Strip event in Las Vegas so we can all start making travel and hotel plans:

April 11-13, 2014

I've been to every one except that last two. Always racing. But this year I'm bringing my 64 HEMI Dodge since it's the 50th for the HEMI and my car too.

See you there Rich. The 440 you built for me is still pulling strong miles after about 40 thou. And they have not been easy miles. Coming in via Route 66 after attending the Spring Fling in Los Angeles. Road miles. No trailer for the Mopar Engines West powered Coronet.

Got the confirmation credentials in th email today. Only one wristband. Thought there were two per entry in past years. Fun-Field.

Update. Guess there is only one per entry. I purchased another online for Linda.

I was only going to get one swap spot this year instead of the normal two spots. Well I need two wrist bands and after seeing the 60.00 weekend pass I just went ahead and got a 2nd swap spot w/ band for 100.00
60.00 weekend spectator pass is kinda steep.

I'll be there too-with a 66 Hemi Coronet that's been neglected and hidden away for over 40 years-body is a mess! Original motor won't be ready in time, so we are bolting a fresh MP 426 up to the original trans and freshening up the rest of the drivetrain. We plan to drive it to the event from SoCal, swap out the 3.08's for some 4.56's and make a few passes. If it stays together, swap the gears out Saturday and drive home Sunday morning. We are registered for the 426 display too.

If I don't have to spend all day working on the Coronet, I'll try and drive the Vanishing Point Challenger out to the Fling. I'll post a few pics later-its ugly!

On the road Enroute.

. Broke down in Niland on the Saltan Sea. We are waiting for an electric fuel pump for the Coronet overnight from Summit. That's Darius and Linda with the Daytona outside the Legion in Bombay Beach.
