MATS 2014 Dates - Be There!!!

I'll be there too-with a 66 Hemi Coronet that's been neglected and hidden away for over 40 years-body is a mess! Original motor won't be ready in time, so we are bolting a fresh MP 426 up to the original trans and freshening up the rest of the drivetrain. We plan to drive it to the event from SoCal, swap out the 3.08's for some 4.56's and make a few passes. If it stays together, swap the gears out Saturday and drive home Sunday morning. We are registered for the 426 display too.

Excited to see this car - I'll be there tomorrow, getting teched and maybe a few passes too.

Is your Coronet still for sale? Thought someone would have snatched that thing up right away. Its a sweet car.

I thought that was the Hemi car I saw for sale in Hawaii! Glad I got to see it at MATS, I bet that thing was a beautiful car when it was new. Do you have plans to restore it?

I'm not sure. Every single person I spoke with at MATS(the Coronet garnered incredible interest!) said to leave it as is. I do have the 66 Hemi for the car-just didn't have the time to get it together for the event, so its currently fitted with a crate 426. It was running the original trans, rear end, brakes, etc at the event. I have the original radiator, trans cooler, air cleaner, etc safely stored so I guess I could do a stock resto at some point. I do agree that it would be a stunner in its original Mauve metallic with factory white painted roof, so it is tempting. A pic of how nice the firewall(and door jambs, trunk, etc) are-also, one more to show that not all my Mopars are "patina heavy"

Nice, I enjoyed seeing your quick progress on the turbo-mopar site. Looks like a fun car!
