I just got this 725 Road Demon to replace the Eddy carb on my rebuilt 383 and it leaks from EVERYWHERE, wont run cause it's too rich, and basically just a pile of pigeon crap.

I just wanted something a tad better to get me by until I can save enough for the Fast EFI and what a waste of money. I will send it back to BG, and tell them to keep it and toss the Eddy back on.

Argggghhhhh, what a waste of my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the members over on FABO came by and got that pile sorted out. It runs, and I can drive it, but nothing to write home about.

He didn't use a single one.....me on the other hand, invented a few new ones!!!!!

Had less than 10 miles on it. I can this for absolute certainty.....the Eddy is better.

Well of course it had less than 10 miles on it, the poor guy before ya couldnt get his started either.

Damn thing is still running rich, backfires thru the carb, and the dual fuel line still has a small weep to it. Off it comes and the Eddy goes back on.

Eddy is back on and what a difference!!!!! The truck can fry 1 tire now from a dead stop, no hesitation, no backfire, and runs smooth!!!!!!

Anyone need a Demon carb for dirt cheap?

Opinions vary vastly when it comes to this stuff... 1st off don't take this wrong, it's all in the tuners abilities, there's no reason the Barry Grant couldn't have worked on that 383, if it wasn't screwed up by the previous owner probably, they must have screwed something up, he probably over-tightened something or cross threaded something, buggered up something, to mess up the fuel lines causing leaks, screwed with float levels & jets, etc... I've had several Barry Grants they were OK, I had no real issues with them, I just prefer a different style make carb... I'm glad you got yours running again thou, even if I'm not a big fan of Edelbrock carbs at all, they are ok for a stock-ish build with very few exception, like multiple carbs & especially the 750cfm Performer Series {Weber/Carter clone}#1411, the AVS is a little better thou, I'd run an old Thermoquad before I'd run either of those style Edelbrock carbs... I like allot of Edelbrock's products & the carbs aren't one of them... Give me a Holley or QuickFuel/Holley any day... There are those that will swear by the Eddy carbs & I'm not one of them people... but too each their own... my $0.02 cents

No offense taken. I thought for the price, I could have something a tad better until I have the cash for FAST EFI. But, it wasn't meant to be, and now I'm out some dough. Live and learn. Now to figure out the cooling issue.....does it ever end? LOL!!!!!
