73 Charger Hinge to hood.
According to my research they should look like this.
3/8" x 16 - 1"
1" Washer O.D.
9/16" Hex Head
Anyone have (4)?
PM me please.

I think the pointed threads are for U or J clips. The bolts shown with the unthreaded tip is for hoods with nut inserts. .................... MO

Hmm, interesting. The washer is a bit larger but I haven't had an opportunity to go out to see if it will interfere with the hood.
He mentioned those were door hinge bolts.

ODZKing, let me apologize for when I said mine looked like the one in the picture. I was going by memory, I knew the end was necked down and unthreaded. However, I just went out to take a look at my hood bolts, as the hood is off. Bear in mind that this is a 1970, I don't know if they were totally re-engineered a few years later. :) They have no separate washer, and there are ridges to help lock it in place, as these pictures show.

what size socket goes on those with the head & washer as one piece?

Thanks for the help. I think I going to just order the (25) and replace them all.
Then I'll throw 4 of them on EBag for $10.00 and get my investment back - LOL! :laughing5:

OK, quick update for the B body folks who were interested.
This applies to 73-4 Coronet, RR, Satellite, Charger folks. I did not check but most likely will apply to 71-2 as well.

I found the numbers in the parts book, cryptic as they may be.
How much more would it been to spell the damn words out! Wa = washer and Att = attaching. But the rest??

Hood Hge to Hinge Attg, what ever that means.
180122 is hinge to hood (4). And when you look that up in 18/Standard Parts section you see that is the bolt as mentioned. 3/8 - 16 x 1 inch and head 9/16. Finish is "plain". I guess they expected them to be painted.

Then (and this is a beauty) Sc. & Wa. Hood Hge to Body Att.
I take that to mean hinge to body # 180079 (6) - 5/16 - 18 x 1 inch with 1/2 inch head and zinc plated.
However no where does it say whether they are pointed or "dog-nose" as the industry calls it.

I would have thought that they would have been the same (all 10) but they are not.

So , I guess I don't need 25 after all !!

yea...hood to hinge would need 4...hinge to body would need 6....all of mine are 5/16" thread with 1/2" hex...I'm gonna say your 4 9/16" hinge to hood bolts are 3/8" thread with 9/16" heads is because that hood is so much bigger & heavier

I got my new hood bolts at lowes in the bolt section look they have body bolts

Hey Bob,

Mine are 3/8 x 7/8 and the washer is a separate piece to the bolt. A 9/16 spanner fits the hex. I have no reason to suspect they have been swapped out as all of the hood to hinge and hinge to body are the same.

Yep, thanks to everyone. Lowes it is (was) $1.49 but hey, now I don't need to figure out what I'll do with 21 others.
Jase, I actually had a couple of those in my bolt bin, even with the "S" on them. But I've got these now.WP_20140503_17_15_32.jpg
