69 coronet 500 convertible. 4 Speed with air..

Dam lucky,

THANKS, I'm dam lucky that a friend of mine is doing the body and paint for a screaming deal. And another good friend is a AMD dealer,so i got all the sheet metal at cost. I could have not done the car at shop rates. I would have had to sell it as is. When i bought it i had no idea what metal work and paint work cost.

Are those factory or reproduction side scoops? I have been thinking of putting the side scoops on my convertible?

Paint pics update..

Front end is painted and looks better then the pictures. As some of you paint guru's look at some of the pics. and might wonder why we don't paint the whole thing at once. My paint and body guy is doing this in his garage at home after hours and not much time to do the whole thing at once. You should see what he can do out of his garage.. He has a line up a mile long for people that want there cars done.
Don't now how he does it. 30 years of working days in a body shop and then coming home to do night shift on side projects..

Wow, I really like that color, looking forward to seeing more of the resto. Amazing what you can do with these cars if a person is willing to put in the love and time. Good job and keep up the good work!

Just a pic. of a 69 500 fender tag 4 speed car..

Thought i would post a pic of a cool tag from a car left for dead. Found it on a car that was gutted and left for dead on a island outside of Vancouver. Thought i would save this cool tag. 69coronetrt might like this.. CheersP1040358.jpgP1040359.jpgP1040360.jpgP1040361.jpg

This is the original block to my car and im sure that it has not been apart in 45 years, untill today.
There was a chat about 383 HP and 383 non HP a few weeks ago and 69coronetrt set us strait on that.
Just wondering if there is a part #no on my cam, and also what size of piston was in my motor.
Part #no 2863114 is on the inside and also on the other side is 283113.

Peter J, was you car a factory 3 on the tree?

Is that just a sealer on the seams? Guessing it is able to be sanded because the car looks great!! Going to have to replace my floor.
Yes seam sealer. Its not sandable. You cant see the seam sealer very well in the pics of the floor painted but i just spread it over the seams and then just leave it as is..

Oh gotcha. I guess under the carpet, pad and sound mat it wouldn't really matter much.
Thanks!!

Have you ever seen factory seam seal.. They slopped it all over.. Get them out the door as fast as possible.. Cheers

no It was and is an automatic. Not near the level of resto as what you are doing 69rag500. But it will be sweet from 3 feet.. lol

Started front and rear end. Some pics..

Got started on some parts. Hot tank, media blast, paint. Some of the parts in the pics im going to leave natural. After hot tank and media blast and some imperfection taken out with a wire wheel they are a bit shinny. Satin clear coat will take the shine down and will keep it from rusting.69 rag frontend & rearend 029.jpg69 rag frontend & rearend 004.jpg69 rag frontend & rearend 031.jpg69 rag frontend & rearend 010.jpg69 rag spindle 001.jpg
