After breaking yet another wire on the brittle engine harness, I decided that I'll have to buy a new harness. My car ('70 GTX) does not have electronic ignition, but it came with an orange box and the short harness, plus a dismantled distributor. My question is, should I buy a stock harness correct for my year and use the short harness that I have or buy the one for electronic ignition? I plan on adding a Firecore dist. if that matters. Thanks.

I have a 70 Road Runner that had been converted over to electronic ignition, but the wiring was hacked up and brittle, so I replaced it.

Year One has both original wire harnesses and ones that have been built for electronic ignition, just like the factory would have done it if our cars had electronic ignition. I bought the electronic ignition wire harness, and it worked great, went in easy, and looks neat and clean.

I would suggest the same harness for you...
