$3,000 for an 89 Plymouth Horizon that he's been driving daily for 14 years, in fact according to him the car has never sat for more than a few days in all that time, and he believes the mileage is only 45,423? Assuming he bought an 11-year old car in 2000 that had zero miles on it, that would mean he's been driving the car daily for 14 years and only putting 3,200 miles a year on it. Can we toss the BS flag on this guy? :) More likely the mileage is 245,000.

And is anyone really going to pay $3,000 for a 1989 Horizon regardless of mileage? Especially in that condition?

Please tell me this guy is just a moron or rip-off artist and not the Gen-X version of a guy wanting too much for his vintage Mopar. :)

I like this comment, "It has 45,423 miles that I BELIEVE are all original." How are the miles not original, did someone donate some miles to your car, did you borrow some miles from another car! LOLOL

That POS kind of fits in that, "who gives a chit category, it's a FWD 89 Horizon" after all...LOL, but the way that ad is written, the mileage sounds fishy... Car is beat to crap with a freaken' bag on nickels it looks like...

But to play devils advocate, not everyone fits into a specific mold when it come to mileage per year...

Example ;my 1999 Dakota SLT 4x4 5.2ltr. only has 55,000 miles on it & I know they are original miles, that's an average of 3,666 miles a year, over the last almost 15 years, truck was 1st reg. in Aug 1998...

I got it when it was still only less than a year old, in 2000 it already had 22,000 miles on it, {it was the GM's rig at our Motherlode Motors, use to be a Dodge Dealership} so my yearly average over the 14 years I've owned the truck is about, only 2,357 miles a year, so that guys mileage in the advert. isn't out of reason... Especially if he owns other vehicles...

Remember not everyone has to drive 100+ miles a day, 5-6 days a week, like those slaves to the 40hr+ week work force out there...LOL... man I'm glad I don't anymore either...

Hell when I lived in Rancho Murieta Ca. for almost 10 years of my trucks life, I drove my golf cart way more than I ever drove my Dakota truck, hell I have some weeks I don't drive my truck at all now, I don't need to go anywhere, except occasional trip to town, groceries, gas up, have been allot lately because of my Pop's health issues, but I work from home, for myself too...

Now my other truck 2002 F350 4x4 Dually has 95,000 miles on it, most all from Pop's towing a RV/trailer... My 2 previous trucks 95 & 98 Ram 4x4's had 300+K & 350+K miles respectively on them, I drove well over 60K+ a year in each of them, my 95 100K+... most all traveling all over the country racing or playing on my quads, hunting, fishing or golfing somewhere far from home etc., the 98 Ram 4x4 was my co. work truck & put allot of miles on it too...

Food for thought

The DMV keeps track of the mileage if it has had several owners. The other reason that the manufacturers added the "one hundred thousand" number to the odometer. This one doesn't. I'd say it's one hundred thousand.
$3,000., I'd give him $300. if I was in the market, and I'm not!

Has that truck been your daily driver for 14 years, or only drive when you had an occasion to need it?

Body is fair...'cept fer rust and dents.
A/C doesn't work, but the dash controls do.
Lenses are all there, but cracked and taped.
Doesn't really want to sell, but there's an ad on Craigslist asking 3G.
Tires hold air, but are all flat (okay, I just made that last one up). Is the sellers name Steve?

I think the real question is why you're searching craigslist for an 89 Horizon? :blob1:

It's been my regular driver for quite a while now, I don't really drive "daily" anymore, my other trucks were tow rigs & not daily drivers, or were used occasionally as work trucks, some playing or wheeling etc....

But since I no longer go into an office or commute to work, rarely race or travel now or have to fly all over the darn country, my mileage has gone way down...

But yes the last 7 years or so it's been my Daily Driver exclusively... I get a discounted rate on my insurance now even because I don't drive it as much, everything I need to do is within 6-7 miles of me now... Except Hospitals that Pops has been going too, 70+ & 100+ miles away...

My 68 RR probably gets nearly as many miles per week/year as my 99 Dakota 4x4 does now...

When I was an OTR driver I would drive my pickup 4 miles to the terminal, let it sit for 5 days while I was on the road, then drive it 4 miles home. A grand total of about 500 mi per year give or take.

More like he would have to pay someone $3000 to take it. Pinnacle piece of junk from a horrid time in automotive history. I'd recommend cutting it up in 3 pieces and toss it in the garbage can.

My cousin bought a Dodge Omni brand new, man that was embarrassing, I called it the Bombni.
They where pieces of crap brand new, what's this guy think he has?

Well, like they say - "It may be ugly, but it sure is slow."

I love the A/C description: The AC seems as if it wants to blow cold but does not.

What ?? I had one of those in high school not one on MA's better products !:icon_thumbdown:
