Hey all :eek:ccasion14:
This is for my 63 Dodge 440 Stationwagon.
I'm sure these questions get asked many times but does the modern A&A or MOPAR Max Wedge Crossram manifold bolt up to the Indy EZ-1 Max wedge port heads without issue??

Also do the 62-64 Max Wedge Cast Iron Exhaust manifolds bolt up to them as well without clearance issues??

I'm assuming it all does but you know what happens when you ***-u-me !!!!

I'd like to stick with the period max wedge look so i'm hoping these (AMD 335-1064-1BP) valve covers fit also...mind you i think they might need to be raised a little..anyone able to second that??
Any advice as always would be greatly appreciated !!!
Cheers :icon_wink:

Hi Joe,

I've done some research on the "62-64 Max Wedge Cast Iron Manifolds..." part of your question since I intend to drop a M.W. clone motor in my '64. I have some of the engine components, and a new cross ram intake from A&A is one of the things I have stored away....

My understanding, (and I'm sure the guys here will correct me if I'm wrong) is that the original 62-64 manifolds and other M.W. items from that era were engineered to work together as a system in that era. If you get too creative today and try to 'mix and match' original components with the new stuff that's available, you could run into fit problems.

For example.....If you contact the folks at A&A they'll tell you that their cross ram intake is modified from the original 62-64 design so that a variety of heads and exhaust manifolds will work with it. I plan on building a 440 block to look like a M.W. motor, so the A&A intake was the way for me to go vs. trying to stay with original M.W. components. It was also much easier this way on my wallet. :)

I've read quite a bit of very useful M.W. and related threads here on FBBO.....do your research before you start your build. ~ Steve

Hey Joe, take a look at this site when you have a chance....... http://racehemi.maxwedge.com/ When I wrote you yesterday I couldn't remember where I had saved this link, but I found it this morning. Lots of good M.W. info. posted here!

I was using these valve covers on my eng which has the Indy EZ heads. These were chrome and I painted them as they looked like an older Eddy valve cover but they do look close to stock but are a tad taller. Not sure if the crossram with fit though as I have only used this Indy dual plane. Ron
