Hyrdgoon's - project angrybird

... And as you saw above I have a bit$h of a time with alignment because I know the frame is crooked.... I found an adjustable UCA that "might" help me get this thring driving straight OR I found a collision shop that said they can put my car on the jig with everything in tact and pull my frame for about $550..... I'm definitely leaning to the 2nd option as a proper fix.

Great car - it looks super - so keep up the good work!

One comment on the frame straightening. I do not disagree that straightening the frame is the right thing to do. However, I would be worried about all the gaps in the car getting screwed up once they straighten it up. That might just be aligning doors and front fenders, so it might be OK. Either way, I would be very careful - especially opening doors after the straightening to be sure you don't chip anything...

Good luck!

I do wish you the best with the frame situation, Im sure it will turn out right as it seems Mopar guys don't give up, Keep-er going your getting it!!!

Keep up the good work Goon! - the car looks serious bad ***.

Keep us updated on the frame work.

Thanks again for the kind words and comments everyone!

I'm not going to bother with the frame work until this winter just in case it does snowball into other issues I don't want to lose any more drive time than I already am.

Here's where I am on everything "on the go"

- New Mity Mount and Shumacher torque strap have shipped just waiting on arrival.

- Poked my head around to find my oil leak this weekend... looks like it's coming from the inspection plate between the motor and trans so I'm pretty sure it's main seal

- Cal Tracs ordered gotta get rid of my wheel hop from my soft springs

- I'm still having that clutch issue where all of my play is at the very top so going to try swapping release bearing.

- New speedo gear ordered since I changed the gears

- FER RACIN!!!

Something I forgot to mention that I thought was kind of funny and hope I get the terminology right. I was noticing that my idle wasn't dropping down all the time when I would come to a stop... sitting around 1100 then I would have to give the throttle a shot to drop to the 7-800 rpm where it's happy.

Driving it over to the shop I noticed it wasn't giving me as much of a problem on the highways and country roads more in town.... It appears what is happening is the little switch with the counterweight on the side of the carb for the fast idle cam is getting blown up and held in the on position by the CFM (I am dubbing this the "WHIRLING VORTEX) of my fans! Going to have to build a little shroud to shield the switch from said vortex!

So what you're saying Goon . . . is when you drive the car Fer Racin' . . . it pushes the idle UP ! ! ! ( smile ) . . . Glad you're enjoying your CAR ! ! !

I want to see this torque strap go in because I'm either buying one or building one for my car. Glad your having fun with your car(whirling vortex or not) I bet it's an animal.

I really like the car! Very well done, if I had the car I would also put it on a frame table and get it straitened. I would do it in the off season too, but I would get a few freinds and carefully pull the frond clip off. That should let the frame shop correct anything they need to, and then I would carefully reassemble the front end. Sounds like a pain, but I think that would be the best in the end. For now have fun with that Road Runner!

I love that! "WHIRLING VORTEX" I just may have a lead on some more "MOPAR" sayings to lead the way....EVEN MORE! :)

If there's anything you would like me to do once it arrives let me know! take pictures of the strap and all the components? document the whole process? I'm looking forward to the Cal Tracs too they seem like a really cool piece of engineering

That is way to cool Goon, It's amazing the amount of people that just fall in love with these old cars (I'd probably leave a note in that beast too). As far as the torque strap goes I don't need anything fancy just curious how hard it's going to be to get stuffed in there and what headaches there might be. I guess just a few pics and a testimony (hopefully minus cuss words haha).

**Looks over shoulder** I certainly hope not! Although I did see the big black trainer at the gym taking pics of the car the day before... think it was him??

LOL I knew it was you Devin!!! And I'll give you whatever info I find useful about the torque strap for sure!

She sounds hot!

Lol because she likes Mopars?? hahaha

So my Mity Mount shipped on the 12th and it's finally in Canada held for further customs clearance.... and my Cal Tracs UPS notice was on the door today which got me excited UNTIL I saw what I owed for the Brokerage fees.... when I ordered the Cal Tracs shipping costs were $47USD shich I thought extremely fair and happy to pay... then I get the delivery notice saying leave a cheque for $129!! That's 30% of the cost of the item itself!!! WTF!!!
