I have a 70 Purple 340 Swinger NOM was restored about 10 yrs ago no problems and no rust and has been kept inside and I also have a 70 RR matching numbers 383 Air Grabber car was restored about 5 yrs ago. Lemon Twist with white bench seat interior, no rust and no mech. problems. These are both nice cars but I can trade them for a 70 all numbers matching 440 six pack Charger B5 blue Black top and Blue inter. It has build sheet and fender tag. It is a Calif. car so no rust. The owner started redoing it and decided to get rid of it and it will take around 2k to finish it, rechrome the bumpers, seat belts and just a bit of cleaning it up and finishing it on out. What does every one think on this? It is an RT and I thought they were bring some big money. So do I trade are not? Thanks Ronnie

Concerning California cars and rust. Remember, a good portion of the population in California live next to the Pacific Ocean. Having lived on the Coast for 30 years I can tell you that lots of rust happens due to the salty coastal air. The only good part is that unless you live in the Sierras, you don't have to deal with chemicals or salt on the road. It's a good idea to verify, that way there's no surprises...

My first muscle car was a 1966 Satelite with a 273. We beat the puss tons out with a BFH and it took some work to get them out! From the garage we picked it up out of I could see the ocean. Great view and the body was in good shape but the engine was toast.

you have two finished cars, and the Charger needs $2000 (at least ) to finish.....keep what you have. Chargers are great, but if it were a '68 or '69 I'd go for it. If it's the multiple carbs you want...sell the Swinger and build a nice 440 +6 for the road runner and store the #s engine.

You have to look at what you would expect to get for your two cars at today's
prices then add a minimum of 2000 for finishing the charger. If that number is
what you'd be willing to pay for the v code then go for it.

That's a set up.... is the R/T a clone or #matching car body eng trans and rear? If I was $2000 away from finishing that car unless something major came up it would be done.. why get out form under it??? Before I trade 2known good cars for a basket case...

I wouldn't trade two cars for one at all no way you have to good running cars keep them...

There is no way I would do a deal like this sight unseen. Could be setting yourself up for a disappointment.

You have to do what will make you happy. If it was me now no way I would trade the 70 Dart and Roadrunner for a 70 Charger as I myseld like the Roadrunner and the Dart better then the 70 Charger. My favorite Charger is the 68. But thats just my opinion as you have to do you want. Ron

It isn't sight unseen, I have looked at the car. I'm suppose to go this week and put it on a lift and check all the numbers and under side. The owner was suppose to have got ill and could finish are fund the car is the reason it has came up for sale. I have checked the top all ready and there is no rust I can find on the body and no bubbles under the vinyl top. I'm going to check it all out and drive it this week, I have all ways wanted a Hemi are a 6 pack car. This in not a clone he has all the paper work on it and fender tag. It is just missing a little bit of stuff and needs a good detailing to get it right.

If it not sight unseen then you're in good shape. If the car only needs $2000 in work to finish then that's not a bad deal as long as everything don't have to be re-done.
