Removing ballast resistor

If you want the stock look remove resister and replace with a wire between the terminals
or just crimp the two wires together and remove ballast

I removed mine from the firewall/bulkhead and took it apart by removing the wire inside. I then added a section of 16 gauge wire and some spade connectors and then re-mounted it back to the firewall. I hooked it up like normal and it worked perfectly. Also kept it looking correct in appearance but functionality was totally different...cr8crshr/Tuck

Tried gutting 3. They all turned into dust.:angryfire:

I've done this with several, but we used a brass rod and soldered the terminals to it, then reinserted it into the ballast resister and potted it with JB Weld.

Many guys who want the stock look simply remove the ballast resistor from the firewall, dig out the guts inside leaving just the terminals. Maybe put some RTV in there just to fill the gap, then replace it and plug it back in. If you have a bad one, all the better. Hate to see a good one get destroyed but either way, no more resistor.
