All you guys running center consoles. What do you do for a cup holder? I remember when I was a kid we had plastic cup holders that would slip in/on the window channel and had a loop around the middle and a folded under circle on the bottom. Do they even still make those?

Check your local truck stop, I've seen them at the Pilot and Flying J on my way to Erie.

Since my car is a 62 and has a 71 console, I took the plate off and cut holes with a hole saw then welded in a couple of 3 inch lengths of pipe capped at the bottom. Smoothed the welds and painted semi gloss black.

Interesting.. Pics?

Yeah, they still have them. I have a couple sitting in my basement. I didn't like what they were doing to my 40 year old weather strip so I stopped using them.
What I usually do is put a small car cup holder on the hump in the back behind the console now. One of the kind that has the pointy teeth to dig into the carpet more or less.

Well, back in the day, we just set drinks between our legs! Or had one of the many people riding in the car hold it for the driver, especially if it was the cute petite girl that sat on the console. Today, now that the car is fully restored, No Food or Drink is allowed inside the car! LOL

I used a couple different rack mount equipment mounting "ears" and some PVC couplings.

wal-mart has window ledge cup holders but they're not the same style.

I found a vintage one at a thrift store and another in a box of crap from the 80's I had in my closet.
