So i was wondering have any of you used solid mounts for street use or have you used 1 solid & i rubber mount what say you good idea or bad idea i guess the opinions will vary.
I agree I've seen reports that support thisSolid motor mounts can actually be bad for your motor. Under the torque of a launch with big horsepower and traction, the engine still wants to twist out of the mounts. Because it can't, stresses put on the block can actually distort the #1 & even the #3 cylinder in extreme cases out of round and you can loose compression/horsepower out of that cylinder. If you are drag racing and feel the need for something stiffer than poly mounts, put a motor plate in the car. If you are not running big horsepower with big traction, interlocking rubber or poly mounts are all you should need.
