Here's to all the naysayers!

Looks like 10.90 in the 1/4 mile from reading a previous thread on the Forum so, this Hot Rod article seems credible!

As far as I'm concerned...that is INCREDIBLE!

I have been hearing chatter on the net about 10 second passes, but nothing verifiable until today. I cant wait to hear whining and excuses from the Blue Oval & Bowtie camps now! :icon_fU:

I have been wanting a hellcat since i have heard the rumors. I want a new car i can drive daily around town and to the track. However since its in the 10s quarter, is any NHRA track going to let the car near the track without a cage??? Im not well versed on rules, but if i need a cage or other safety equipment to race im not quite as interested as i was.

You can build a 10 second car for less than half of what a Hellcat will cost and not tear up a brand new car. (IMHO)

Well yeah im sure, but also would you buy a 707 hp just to leave in the garage? Im just saying im having second thoughts on needing that kinda car, the 2015 392 Scat Shaker is starting to appeal to me.

Its like the dodge engineers said in the beginning this car isnt for everyone.

Makes you wonder if the Ford & Chevy engineers are completely surprised by the performance of the Hellcat. I hope so. I love to imagine them spitting coffee on their keyboards while watching this video.

I'm interested in how quick one is with Rawlings rowing the gears w/ stock tires...so we can have a true comparison. This vid is not surprising.

I'm excited for the general public to get their hands on them.

Anybody notice the fine print at the end of the vid?
"NHRA certified 10.8 @126 with street legal drag radial tires"

If I could spend that kind of money on a car I would love to have one. I wonder if you could buy the supercharger, suspension and brakes and build it and come out cheaper

Thatd void your warranty. Lol

Bad new ride, for damn sure

If there's evidence that a car has been raced, most dealerships will void the warranty as well.

That would be everyone. How many people aren't going to roast the tires or get on it when the light turns green?

Might as well get a V6 if one just wants looks.

'Abuse'

Don't hate the player, hate the game...and never buy a car expecting warranty work to be fulfilled. Especially one like this.

Now if they could only make the body more like the old Challengers. The new ones are getting too blocky.

Raced is one thing. Abuse is something else. Chrysler isn't stupid. They put on srt event track days. When you buy one of these cars you get to ge free of charge so you can learn at least something about how to drive. Thats what they built these cars for. If something wears out or is a manufacturer defect it will be covered. If the clutch disc is sticking out of the hood (an actual case) then you're beat. Sorry.

When/if I purchase a Hellcat it will be long out of warranty. I'll let someone else take to big hit on the value.

I personally witnessed vipers getting tested in vegas. They ran those things flat out for 10 hours just to see what would break. Maybe 5 times did cars have to go to the garage for issues other than tires or gas. There is a major difference in how much abuse the car gets depending on driver skill level
