440 engine 132.jpgJust got her back yesterday from Larry Shepard of Hemis only in Akron. He did a great job and I cannot say enough good things about them. Will post some info on the build later. Here is the link. Hope you enjoy!

Congrats 1911 the motor sounds and looks sweet !! Post some pics or more vid of it going in and firing up :)

very nice

Thanks.
Some specs on the build are 1969 440 bored .030 over with TRW sixpack pistons and 906 heads. Heads have Manley 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust with port work. Cam is the old purple shaft 292 degree .509 lift. It is now wearing factory 1969 exhaust manifolds on it. I will keep you guys updated.

Sorry, I have been gone for a while. Life has gotten in the way. I will have some updates soon! Thanks guys.

do the manifolds have any work done on them? not sure i would have selected a 509 cam with stock exhaust. something milder or a mr-sixpack cam may give better performance. of course it wouldn't have that nasty idle.

Yes. Was going to be a Drag car originally. Had 2inch Hooker comps for it at one time. Had the parts and wanted it to look stock. Probably lost about 40 horse at least. I have to much money in the car to race it. It is now just meant to be a nice sounding cruiser. I am sure it is making somewhere around 450hp. If I had not been collecting parts and changed my mind a few times since 1986 I would have done some things differently. Had to change the full manual valve body and then 4.57 gears need to go also. Sorry manifolds are stock.

Sounds like music to me.We will have to add this to the Friday Night tunes.Should be awesome in the roadrunner!

Did the carbs need any mods?

Yes. They are brand new, but I still had them gone over. The base plates had to be milled and the centers jets needed to be bumped up to around a 66 if I remember right.
