So i was wondering have any of you used solid mounts for street use or have you used 1 solid & i rubber mount what say you good idea or bad idea i guess the opinions will vary.

I had a solid mount on my car for a while....the vibration drove me nuts....running good quality mounts now with a Schumacher torque strap

Schumacher interlockers. Why punish yourself if it is not a true race car?

I have Schumacher mounts on both my cars and have no complaints.

I've tried almost everything like above. I've settled on the interlocker type. I don't remember who made them. I still use a torque strap along with them on the 69 RR.
Good luck,

Ran solid on driver's side before on the street and didn't seem to have that much vibration. Try it and see if it bothers you or not but using a torque strap does the job too and you can make one on the cheap. The Schumacher mounts are a good option too but are pretty pricey and I'm all about keeping as much money as possible for buying things that make me go faster. :D

I was just asking since i have heard other using one rubber mount & one solid its nice to see what other think & have tried.

Solid motor mounts can actually be bad for your motor. Under the torque of a launch with big horsepower and traction, the engine still wants to twist out of the mounts. Because it can't, stresses put on the block can actually distort the #1 & even the #3 cylinder in extreme cases out of round and you can loose compression/horsepower out of that cylinder. If you are drag racing and feel the need for something stiffer than poly mounts, put a motor plate in the car. If you are not running big horsepower with big traction, interlocking rubber or poly mounts are all you should need.

Go poly or poly locks and a steering stabilizer for a 4wheeler works to dampen nice... going solid will vibrate all you're teeth loose and be annoying on a long drive

Mity Mounts with Schumacher Torque Strap.

I had some posts here where I thought I had broken a new Mity Mount but it ended up being the nut backed off the stud (not sure how it happened but it did!) Now back on with a locknut and the Mity Mounts were fine on their own before the strap.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Very interesting answers but i have never seen in my entire life period something like this happening and i grew up at the drag strip...

I have friends that runsolid mounts on the drivers side & a rubber one on the Passenger side for many years and they have a stroker motor and this has never happened. I aint trying to be rude or a jerk but this i have never ever seen happen.

I run the Mity Mount on the drivers side, regular on the passenger & regular tranny mount. No strap/chain. 632HP/696TQ, no issues...

I use a solid mount on the drivers side and the stock mount on the pass side. Not bad at all and very little vibration. Ron

I've run solid mounts, motor plates, torque straps, chain, bailing wire....you name it.....and still have all my teeth :D For the ones that lost their teeth due to engine vibration, I'd like to know what your combination was. The biggest cam for me to run was a 750 lift and that car used a motor plate and the only thing that had a noticeable vibration was the stock mirror and the exhaust note was the reason for that.

I agree I've seen reports that support this

I've used rubber mounts and broken them many times. I know you're trying to avoid this by going solid. I took a different direction and bought a torque strap which is essentially a bar that bolts to the motor and k bar on the right side of the motor. They can be purchased from Schumacher industries for $79. I have my 440 stroked to a 494 w/555 hp. This was the best option to keep the motor under the hood where it belongs. Hope this helps.
