I have the opportunity to purchase a 69 six pack set up. How do I tell if the carbs are original?? And how do I tell if the center carb is a 4 speed or auto carb?

BTW did anyone see the black A12 at Carlisle this past weekend?? First time in public since 1976. Only black with silver interior and power windows car. 7k miles on it!!! One of the prettiest cars I have ever seen.

look at the numbers on the carbs and post them up if you don't have a book to check them.

List Number Year Engine Trans Type CFM

R4391 1969 440 Manual Center 350
R4392 1969 440 Auto Center. 350
R4393 1969 440 Both Front 500
R4394 1969 440 Both Rear 500

Thanks. I'm waiting for the pictures and numbers. I will post.

What would be the max you would pay for this set up.

$800 to $1,000 max

Is it a 440 set up then?

He said it was a 69 440 six pack. That would mean it is off an A12

Doesn't look like aluminum from here, and like said the bowl on the center carb should not have the vent, and all the list numbers on the carbs need to be for a 69 if your looking for correctness.
The solenoid is correct for 69
If it is all 69 stuff it's worth a bit more.

A "69 set up" could mean it was built (date coded) in '69 for a '70 model year application. Neither are inexpensive but a true complete '69 A12 set up was a more limited application and should bring a little more depending on condition.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive that you could also find a 440 six pak set up on certain marine applications back then too. Holley supplied the carbs for boat engines too, and the LIST numbers on those were different than the ones for autos. If the LIST numbers on these carbs you're considering don't add up per any of the automotive books you're checking, you can contact Holley and see if they're marine carbs. Just an FYI... :)

Center carb is wrong; I compared it to mine. Since, the center carb is wrong, the value goes down. I would still buy it and then find a used or buy a new center carb.
