What would be a reasonable price to pay for a 1966 coronet 500 grill, all 5 pieces and hood trim? The grill has only 3 small rock dinks on it, I think with a polish job it would look pretty nice. I have seen some on eBay that looks like someone beat on it with a baseball bat and they still want a lot of cash. I seen this grill at a friend of a friends house and would like to make an offer on it but didn't know where to start. Any opinions.

Start at 100 bucks and go from there.

Really depends on how complete it is. Then how many boo boo's, how bad the boo boo's are, brackets are they there/missing. Hood trim...boo boo's? Again, start at 100 bucks and go from there. Also, since it is "bright dipped/anodized" from the factory, it will not polish out like aluminum will, so keep that in mind.

My humble opinion is if you get that package for anywhere near $100, you stole it! I've purchased a couple now and haven't got that good of a deal. Keep in mind Canada's selection is slightly more limited. But your first offer is the starting point so all he can do is ask for more.

. Well it has 3 small rock dents in the grill surround bead around the headlights, all other pieces are nice and dent free. He wants 350.00, watcha guys think?

Too much!! You wont be able to get the dents out with screwing up the anodizing. Offer 2 bills and show them to him....cash talks!!!

No problem and I hope you guys can come to an agreement.

Moparman, if you buy that grille I'm looking for a driver's side surround. If your current one is ok I'd buy it and help you recoup a little cash.

okay , I'll keep that in mind, I haven't decided what I am going to do yet, thanks for the offer

350s a good deal with the hood trim. Anyone who doesnt think so doesnt have a 66 net and has never had to buy parts for one. I paid a grand for a 66 4 door just to get the pristine grill. each side undamaged is worth 150. and the hood strip about 75.surrounds are 20 a piece. You can strip the anodize with drain cleaner and tap out the dings andfile sand and buff till you dont know they were there. Than reanodize or keep them polished religiously with aluminum polish.

i just got back from the mopar Nats and saw a grill for a 66 coronet, had dents on it, an edge was rolled flat, scuffs, and no hood trim. Get this , 700 bucks! 70's style sq inlet air cleaners, dual snorkel , 250.00. Cuda " shark tooth" grill $1200.00 used,$ 2100.00 restored. The prices are getting insane

Personally I'd have no problem paying $350 for a grille if it wasn't that bad and complete. I have paid $350/side for surrounds that were in very nice condition. Get some pics and let us know!

Hood trim is hard to find that's not beat up real bad. $100 just for that easy.

I paid $200 for a complete (minus hood trim) 440 grille with no dents about 3 years ago, and thought I got a great deal.

I then found a hood trim with only one ding at a classic salvage yard for $75 making my total close to the $300 mentioned above.
