Hello!

I really have a weird problem so we pulled the cluster out since no lights in the whole car worked exepct the essential lights nothing inside the car but everything outside worked fine.

But we got everything to work inside the car instrument cluster so heres the problem.

When the door is open Roof light and floor lamps is lighted when i close the door, the instrument cluster lights up and tachometer everything that should be lighted

But the problem is i cant turn the light off whats wrong, and it turns on automatic without touching anything. :S

I need to pull the battery cabel to turn it off.

........ I don't want to sound sarcastic.... but welcome to mopar... the wireing New and fresh was crap... add up years and people cutting into it.... be patient and do the upgrade stuff you will find the problem(s) or sometimes it's best to start from scratch never knowing the problem and getting all new everything.

Welcome to the club. Get used to it, the wiring needs some help. Search MAD upgrades to start and then get some really good wiring diagrams and start your adventure. I will send you a link that someone sent me. I am still fixing my wiring and the diagram was / is very helpful.

Ask your questions, there is a lot of help on here!

Thanks for the answers

I was so happy that we got everything to work then this turns up haha.

Thanks, but the problem is fixed 3cables had melted together in the fuse box 1 ground 1 power and some another cable.
Also 2 melted cables behind the dash Power and Ground to the instrument panel.

Glad you have your problem fixed. Problem is, there will be more. You really need a good FSM and the colored and laminated wiring diagram. Have fun with your Mopar but remember it is over 40yrs old and is going to need a lot of love and attention.

But most of the wiring is replaced already its not original. Ye i know but how many problems haha.

70redbee is right. There will be more. If you haven't already, check out your firewall bulkhead connector. Chances are it's melted. Again 70redbee is right an FSM and a good wiring diagram.(on ebay for about 20 bucks US.) Get rid of the bulk head connector and go to a volt meter. Use relays to switch the high current stuff. I used a Ron Frances kit but other very good ones out there as well.

From headlights to tail lights all new.... because it was burning and it may have compromised it all... some are good but it's not worth the time to chase each wire out ... just run a new set and start over fresh year one... and the plugins works and grounds... Or the car will get another burn.... usually there a loss.... 100% and the garage.....

Or build a set of wires from spools from a schematic wire by wire on the car tape them good and then you're rolling...
