I'm in the middle of my 68 GTX restoration. I've stroked the 440 to a 494. Hp is now 555. I put a torque strap on the right side - my dumb question is - do you put them on both sides or is the right sufficient? That's where I kept breaking the mounts.

Any sage advice would be much appreciated!

the twist of the motor will pull the driver side up and push the passenger side down. So, it goes on the driver side.

Thanks Matt! I appreciate the tip. I only need one - just have to make sure it's on the correct side.

Driver's side should be sufficient. Both my GTX's have a factory provision in the k-frame already drilled.

I installed a catch there.

Schumacher Interlockers work well for me, no strap.

Sorry for the ignorance - an interlocker is not the same as a Schumacher torque strap - which looks like a bar that attaches to the block and the k frame? It looks nothing like a strap. Just want to be clear and sure.

Thx

My fault, I meant the motor mounts themselves. 500 at the crank and they have been fine for years.

Thanks! I appreciate the help and advice. Understood now!
