What's for dinner?

Pink mist!

I guess they will have to ban deer from race tracks.

Considering the mess that thing made that car wasn't in visibly horrible shape. Had that thing had a normal car front end height it would have been a completely different story I imagine.

Yeah, he was saved by being in a Porsche, it's so low at the front and the deer flung up and over to the side. I bet he did not have insurance for track days.. ;)

wow, pink cloud, gross

Fn Deer!

Could have been a moose!

I've seen what a few vehicles look like after hitting a deer at highway speeds. It usually isn't very pretty.....and as soon as I see one on the side of the road, I'm hard on the brakes and usually aim for the thing because they usually don't stay still anyways.

They are all over around here. Im always watching for them. If I see one near the road i hit the horn and stay on it. The sound typically sends them running in the opposite direction

The few times I've done that, they came into the road just as I got to them. Luckily was still able to miss them.

There are deer all over the place around here too. Amazingly I've never hit one myself but I see dead deer alongside the road all the time. Every once in awhile some idiot will come blazing through here like a bat out of hell and hit one at speed and either get badly injured or killed. The only thing the deer are afraid of around here are dogs. They will stand in the road in the road and look at you while you drive right up to them. You practically have to push them off the road to get around.

N ot necessarily. There is the whole issue of aerodynamics. You'll have an issue with what the air is doing in front of the car. If you were to be able to take a high speed video, you would probably find that the vast majority of the damage to the deer was done by the air in front of the car, rather than the impact. At the speed that the Porsche was travelling I don't think you would see much difference between a Porsche 911 or a Mercedes C class at the same speed given both have a very similar Cd of around .27.
