Sorry mods I don't know where to put this.

I previously posted about the Union Grove Show. Ok.... had a good time all's good (or so I thought). As we got home that evening my volt gauge was reading really low. Ok.... I forget about it for a few days. This last Sunday I go to fire NIKKI up for the Frame Park show. I hop in, turn the key... click click click. Faaaaaaaa* so I get out the battery charger and load tester. Battery is very low. Give her a 20 min charge, she fires right up but my gauge is still reading real low. I'm thinking maybe my alternator took a dump. Oh well, we can take my Pontiac instead. Last night I have a little time.... lets get NIKKI checked out for the Dodge City Show. And what do I see........??? My alternator has been unplugged! Ahhhhhh now I'm pizzzzed. Your hands under my hood is equivalent to having your hands under my girls blouse. If your looking for a broken knee cap you just found it. Maybe I'm over reacting, but this really rubs me the wrong way!

A friend of mine went to a show, and seen someone trying to pop his fender tag!!!

I'm hearing from more than a few people that they won't go to shows with their cars because of crap like this.

I hate car shows..... for that and people who pay big bucks to have there cars built for them... its not worth it for the one or two people I would meet that turn wrenches... why not just show up with a suit case full of money...
And I'm. a liar when I say I built the motor and trans paint etc... and sure it would better if I spent $60,000 more and had a team of 20 mechanics working day and night...... car shows are for A- holes ... for those who are offended good. For those that agree... show it to passing motorists and you're faverote hang out... why pay for someone to charge to see it. Dumb

I am not a big car show guy but when I do go to a show it's just to hang out with people I enjoy. I also like educating people about our early Mopars Hopefully it did vibrate off and wasn't pulled off. See you tonight BIGS.

I agree and dis-agree, I'll explain, yeah there are some with more money than brains and spend more on a cars restoration than it will ever be worth and have that I'm better than the world attitude, real douches, but there are those that though they may be well off, and may have someone else build their car, they can also be humble and decent people, money doesn't always equate to the persons character, by lumping everyone who has done well for themselves and their family, just puts you in the have-not of the "halves and have-not" jealousy category, and merely makes you as bad as the real a-holes. I'm seen some real tool-bags with no money and turd wagon of a car, act just as bad. I try not to judge anyone, and just let their actions dictate their character and integrity, it always creeps out, they can't help themselves. I park my 20 footer Charger next to 50-80k cars all the time, some are nice people, genuinely down to earth, let you look at their car, offer advice, etc, some have an invisible force field up that prevents them from even hearing you say hi, or how you doing.

That connector don't look real healthy to me. You sure it didn't just fall off or vibrate off? I know there are idiots out there that thrive on someone elses woes but I would hate to think someone would do that for laughs. Check to see how tight it fits the spade. If it is loose, pull it out of the fiber and crimp it a little or crimp on a new one.

No the connecters did not 'fall" off..............

Hi I am a "car shows are for A- holes " a hole.:eusa_pray:

I will still attend shows and meet some of the finest friendliest people and real people I have ever met....
sorry to hear the "bad things" that can happen, I have never encountered any thing like that.

If you can never play football any longer & you love it, the next best thing is to watch it with friends.

I agree:angel3:

Just leave your hood shut.
I don't do shows personally and rarely open my hood at cruise nights, I think open hoods ruin the looks of our cars.
If someone asks I will gladly show them my engine compartment, sometimes leave it open but mostly it's closed (and it's pretty nice all stock compartment).
I have no fear of someone messing with anything under my hood it's strictly for looks, it would take a real brave *** hole to unplug that field wire.

I love and I hate car shows. Love the car guys, their stories, advice, and when I have a specific question on how they did something, we look together. Can't stand the guys who, "I would have done it this or that way", "car looks good but needs XXXXX", "You need a big block.", "Should have kept it stock.". Anyway, you get the idea.

I am a car guy. When they ask me who did the paint, I will share. What is in the motor, i will share. When they say "My car is 1 of 3, I say "Congratulations, my car is 1 of 7. I have 7 cars and this is one of them.".

I will always prefer the guy who walks around the car, says "Looks good, I had a ***." We will talk, maybe share a beer. If they start the conversation with "You should have ...", blow off.

While anything is possible, I doubt it came off on its own. I've been leaving the hood closed lately too at Shows. Makes for better pics and then no one will be impaled by the hood catch. MontereyCaNovember2013 015.jpg If left open, I muzzle the latch to protect the innocent.

we leave our hood closed also. Unless their judging points for the motor let them try to guess what's under there! It's fun to watch people trying to look through the scoop to see the motor!
