Hello all,

We raced my '69 Coronet RT for the first time at Mopar Nats this year. The car has a 502 stroker, 4 speed and Dana with 3.54. My daughter was driving and had a best of 14.5@103. Pretty slow but she ended up spinning tires badly on launch every time.

Can anyone recommend a wheel slick combo for a better launch? I will swap out tires between races so I am not looking for drag radials but a good set of racing slicks. What's the best size and where is the best place to buy? I am planning to get Cragars at this point.

Thanks!

With the 3.54 gears you dont need a very tall tire. Myself I run the Hoosier radial slicks and I like them. They are 30 x 9 but I run 4.30's. You could get a basic size of 28 x 9 as you know it will fit and it should hook as I run 10's on my 30 x 9's. I dont know what you shift at as you could even run a shorter tire which is like having more gear. My son runs 27 x 9's in his Dart with 3.91's but he shifts his 400 about 6500. Ron
