Carter AFB question

Does anyone know if Carter AFB, or more exact (4326s 67 440 stick) carbs have bushings around the shafts?

I noticed a slight drip sometimes occurs near one of the shafts near the bottom of the carb.
 
So if there is slop on the shaft, the carb is shot?

Is there any place else it can leak near the bottom of the carb, if there is no crack?
 
I also have the same problem...As AFB throttle shaft bores wear, it's not unusual for them to seep a little fuel. The problem I believe appears to be the AFB carb are getting too hot because it is soaking up the engine heat after shutdown. Shortly thereafter it begins to drip off of the throttles shafts...


Do you know if the throttle shaft bores in your AFB haver ever been rebuilt?

No bushings from factory. There is always slop in the shaft so the question is now much. Even with a fairly tight shaft clearance you can get gas weeping if there is an issue with flooding.
 
Today the car was extremely hard starting, and once it finally started, it immediately died. I opened the hood, and found gas dripping heavily from both sides of the carbs shaft.

I do not believe that the shaft bores have ever been rebuilt.

I also have an AFB on my 67 Charger. The number sounds familiar, may be the same one. I have owned the car for 10 plus years and had the AFB rebuilt early on.
This thing runs great, about as turn-key as I can get for a 67 383 with 100,000 plus miles.
I have never noticed any drips however, the one issue I have always had with it is it cranks for a while after sitting for 24-48 hours or more. Otherwise once it starts, she runs like a champ.
Now whether the fuel is evaporating or seeping back into the pump, I'm not sure. But it is no more a nuisance than cleaning the windshield after a long ride. I have just gotten used to it.
There is a fellow in Utah who rebuilt my 73 Thermoquad who is genius with carbs and quite reasonable.
I will PM you his name if you are interested.
