Going to be gearing up to install an AMD one piece trunk pan in my 67 Belvedere. The last time I looked at the car it seemed that the best way to install the pan was to remove the tail panel and slide it in from the rear as it obviously can not be placed in through trunk opening. Before I travel down and look at car i thought I would ask you guys.... Any tips, tricks or pics from those of you who have already done this? Can it be slid in by removing lower tail panel only? Thanks in advance for any input...

Not sure if this helps but we did a one piece floor in a 70 RR. Had to raise the body up and canted 8 into place from under. Might be possible. To get it in but don't know for sure

I have heard several people say the best way to do it is to remove the tail panel at the factory welds and slide it in that way. I don't know specifics for your car, but it was certainly suggested for mine (70 Road Runner).

In my case, it didn't matter since tail panel and quarters were all gone, so it wasn't particularly hard to get to the trunk area.

Tail panels gotta go bye-bye amigo. Pain in the rear, but you'll be -minus one weld seam down the middle. Good luck.

Follow my Satellite thread over the next week or so, I'll be installing the same item you're speaking of, and, I'll post pics.

It doesn't have to be down the middle. You can buy a one piece and cut it yourself so the seam falls directly over the frame rail. This way you lessen the chance of blow throughs when welding and you don't have to finish the seam on the bottom.
