Hey all,
I'm trying to create a base model, no option Coronet. I've managed to remove most of the trim, but while taking off the vinyl roof, I had to remove the chrome/stainless trim around the rear window...
Did all '71s and up have the chrome trim between the metal and glass? I don't mind looking at the black sealer between it if the base models came this way.
Thanks!

Pretty sure they had it.

My Satellite has only one molding option listed on the tag V1X, which is the body side molding.

It has no wheel well molding, no molding on the tops of the doors and quarter at the belt line,

and it has no sill molding, and no molding on the drip rail.

The drip rail, however, is different than a car with that molding, as there are small pieces of metal bent over to cover the gap where a car with drip rail molding would have been left open, to be covered by the molding.

Pretty sure the window molding was not an option, although IIRC there were several model and/or year specific window moldings that could have been something other than "bright", such as black or body color.

The only extra chrome is where the top terminates on the rear roof support.. most of these cars had vinalntops because they hide defects in the body.

Like hub cap delete ?

OP has a 71.

Different roof to quarter seam than a 66/67.

Thank you! I tried looking at base '71 Chargers, non vinyl roof cars, etc but they all seem to have that trim. I wasn't sure if the original factory painting of the '71 base model Charger (the yellow one in the brochure) had a trim package added so it wouldn't look so "plain".
YY1, I've successfully found the metal clips that go over the drip rail gaps. I'm trying to make this as plain Jane as possible, save the big block and 4-speed. :)
Has anyone ever tried scuffing/painting this trim to match the body color? It's just a 4 door, I don't think people are gonna freak out about its "originality". :)

Im planning on getting my trim powdercoated black for my car, ive seen a few pictures online of cars with body color and black. Google black trim.
