Does anyone know if it´s possible to modify a manual valvebody for a 66 or newer TF727 to fit a ´64 727 column shifter? I have a brand spanking new Cheetah valvebody for a late 727 but i have a 64 one in my car...

I know it's possible to buy one for the 64, but then you have to send in a core and thats a problem when you live in sweden..

20yrs back we did the same thing in a buddy's 64 pushbutton car. we took the manual valve, rooster comb, small spring and ball from the 64 valve body and put it in the later valve body and it's still working today. worth a try seeing's your from that far away.

The only difference is in the rear pump on the eary 727.. the push button to column shift or

Or vice versa... is in the linkage and with some bolts and rods could be made up custom... the shift levers and several types would be where I would start... I would go push button console some how....

What parts did you move from the old valve body? Rooster comb= shifter thing right? Small spring and ball= the spring that holds the ball that runs against the rooster comb?. I will start trying this conversion tomorrow evening...

Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Did the swap and it works sweet!! Have an issiue with the park/neutral switch... It only cranks over in neutral and not in park... Think i did something when i installed the valvebody, so ill just put in a micro switch on the shifter to get around the problem at the moment.
