Hey guys I'm Jason and I have a 73 roadrunner roadrunner with a 408 stroker with performer rpm heads, I'm getting a lot of blue smoke from exhaust and some out of breathers there's only about 150 miles on motor could this be faulty valve seals or bad rings already?

It sounds like the rings have not seated or like an other member it was the oils in the exhaust pipes
Take it for a good run and see if it gets better

what's allot of blue smoke ?? puffs or billowing ??
it could just need to run thru a few more heat cycles,
let the rings seat, especially if they're moly rings,
to actually break everything in too,
as you said generally if it's blue smoke,
it's oil in the exhaust in some fashion or other,
valve seal or blow by the rings generally...

it could very well be an old oil saturated exhaust system too

welcome to FBBO, good luck
maybe post your questions in the general discussion forum,
after you introduce yourself here in the welcome wagon section,
you'll probably get allot more responses/possibilities

Exhaust is new, its a full scat striker kit, I'm only confused because it had no smoke initially when I first got it running, there's a lot of smoke now its gotten worse the past few weeks, thanks very cool to have found a forum for b bodies only lol

Welcome.....in my experiences with Moly rings, they seat in pretty fast if the cylinder finish is right and if it's not right, they might never seat in. Why don't you post the problem in a tech thread and tell about the combination. More should see it and can reply since many don't pay much attention to the welcome wagon....

Hi, welcome to FBBO! As Budnicks has said post in the general discussion forum things like what was done to the engine, how it was broken in and if it smokes on acceleration or deceleration.

Welcome and good luck with your break in.

Possibly an intake gasket. I've seen that before.

Welcome to FBBO. As stated it is oil being burned. Just another thought if it is an auto trans make sure the modulator isn't bad and sucking tranny fluid through the vacuum line and into the intake. Good luck.

hi and welcome to the site :headbang:
