Hi guys looking for some input which muffler is better will be running through exhaust manifolds looking for the best performance and sound close to headers as possible thanks

I have Flowmasters on mine. Stock exhaust manifolds & stainless factory style pipes. Everyone says they sound great as i speed past them.

Chuck

I don't like anything with packing, having said that I like the Flowmasters.

dynomax ultra flo's IMO nothing better, i tried all 3 brands and the dynomax were the best

I like the sound of the Flow master myself. Have put them on three of my vehicles.

I run the X-pipe with the full exh system. And I use the Dyno-Max Ultra-Flow mufflers as I race through the exh system. I like the sound of the Ultra-Flows and they are basically straight through for the best performance since I race through the full exh. Here is a clip of mine at idle pulling away on cruise night. This is my brother and I racing but I am running the full exh system on my car and you can get an idea how it sounds when I floor it. For the first second or so when I launch you can hear just my 63 but then as soon as it gets real loud a second or so later thats my brothers Cuda with open headers. But you can get a quick idea how the Ultra-Flows sound floored behind my 440/493. Pay no attention to my niece talking. Ron

would like to do both street and strip love the sound of headers both not on this particular build want to keep the original hp manifolds but want that header sound

Which Flowmasters? 40, 44, 50, or 55? I have a 55 on my 5.2 Dakota and really like it. Nice V-8 tone, not to loud. I paid 160 bucks for a pair of Magnaflows for my 72 SSP 440 and an kind of disappointed with them. Louder than the FM 50/55's and sound to much like cheap glass packs too me especially for 160 smackers. I have a new pair of Flowmaster 40's which are louder and a pair of Dyno-Max's still to try on my 71RR and 71 Dart.

I personally hate the tinny rattle of flowmasters.

I have magnaflow on my Dakota and I love the sound of those.

I've also run dynomax and like those as well.

I am the same here. FlowMe's don't cut it as a nice sound. Very agitating. Besides...Everyone and their Brother is running them. Doesn't matter what Marquee of a car they have. All I ever hear is FlowMe's. DynoMax or Merrimont are far better IMHO...cr8crshr/Tuck

I might add that my Satellite has dynomax knock offs (exact stampings minus logo) and those sound pretty good too, esp for a stock 318-2 with manifolds.

That one gets more "sounds good" comments than the Dakota.
