I put it in..."THE SAFE PLACE"

Oh no . . . never done that . . .

Took the car apart last year, put the rear spring shackles in a safe place . . . now I'm trying to get the spring relocation kit installed and trued up, so I need the shackles to make sure that everything is lined up right and travels correctly . . .

if I can only find where I put them . . . ARGH ! ! !

All I can do is laugh at this post ,
It's not your age I'm 27 and I have stuff in safe places everywhere ,
I sold a 73 sunroof charger once I bought the car for 1000 guy offered me 4500 so no brainer sold I took my org 1000 put it back in the bank took the other 3500 and put it in a safe place (part money) anyways some how I forgot about it and 5 years later I needed 3k for a down payment on a home and it clicked ( I was very happy)

I did a v 8 conversion in my little brothers duster couldn't find motor mounts so I made a set (they sucked) anyways I had a charger I parted out a year later and there were my motor mounts so I put them in a safe place so they didn't get sold ,3 years later I found motor mounts with a bunch of other high end parts center console shifters and little odds and ends I forgot I put in a safe place ( behind air handler) so I went looking found a set of bucket seats in the addict forgot about them found a set of rallye tail lights and doors ( how you forget about a pair of yellow ,72 charger doors is beyond me

And my next favorite ( I don't have kids so don't worry) I forgot I bought 4 hand guns off a cop friend I didn't want to tell my wife yet so guess where they went (safe place) anyways she decided to paint the back room one weekend and found a stach of guns ammo knives and cash (lots of it ) ( I had some explaining to do) well she took my cash and I got to keep everything else ,hopefully she doesn't start looking for other cash spots every time I sell a car all profited cash gets hidden and org cash go's back to bank (I sell lots of cars ) one day I'll find a roll if hundreds and I know it's going to be a good day

Good luck to all finding there safe places I will never be able to sell my house the rate I'm going

Geez now you got me thinkin....

I had a new set of motor mounts and exhaust hangers for B body that I didn't find the other day when looking for those screws...

Aw man...

Made me laugh...I still look in the refrigerator for my keys sometimes:ufo: but I'm sure aliens are stealing everything
I think there is a special place, that when we die, everything we ever lost will all be in that place.
One time, I had been working underneath the car putting in pan bolts . All the bolts were on the floor -right below the pan. I had to go for a few minutes and when I got back, the pan bolts were missing. No one else around that could move them--searched all over, even under the jack stands, under cardboard I had been laying on, under the tires, every where!!That will make ya cuss!, Later I moved my trouble light and there they were - stuck to the magnet on the back of that light!!..................................MO

No, whats worse is, you just laid them down, look again, they're gone, go on a hunt for them, return, and they're baaaaack, explain that one, losing my mind???

Three weeks ago I had some 10 spline yokes out to find a 7290 for my son's car.

Now I need it to finish the pinion set up, any of you guys know the "safe place" I put them?

WHERE ARE MY F'in YOKES. MADNESS is setting in.

I thought this thread was about something else.

I have a set of plug wire separators for my valve covers some where.... my shop is 10'x20'.... so rather than waste more time looking I got another set.... when it comes to electric terminals I get so many more than I need that if I'm swimming in them I will have the right one when the time comes and I'm not running around all day searching for 99¢ worth of parts...

:VB toast:

I had a dent in the floor of my 66 fairlane 500 I pounded it out with a body dolli and it kept popping back up just as I pulled my tools away... after the 3rd time I watched it and for a little while the second I took my eyes off it it piped back.... it was freaky because it wasn't a small dent and it took some work to get it back down... I also had a upper radiator hose get as big as a foot ball on an Oldsmobile 88 that was freakishly dangerous should have took a picture

I JUST FOUND MY YOKES.

Sure I'm shortening and building an 8 3/4" Chrysler rear for my son's Mustang,

but why did he put them in a Ford Racing box and put them on his "Ford Shelf".

I don't care, I've got 'em.

You found 'em..!!

LOL, in your son's safe place..

The only thing worse than looseing something is finding something and searching for where it goes.... I had a 5gal bucket of mopar nuts and bolts and its always a good time dropping a few body fasteners with the right paint code for someone to find sweeping... the best was when I drizzled used motor oil from under a buddy's truck in a line 20' to an oil plug.... after lunch break it was a different mood in the shop

Hey everyone...just wondering how many of you do the same as me? I seem to put things in "THE SAFE PLACE" if I'm not going to need them for a while. Well, I've done it again...

My brother and I did an overhaul on his bike through the winter..it was swamped in a flood last spring. I've spent the last day and a half looking for screws for the instrument cluster and finally found them in...yeah, "the safe place". Bagged labeled and tagged as they should have been, but between the three sheds and two garages it never ceases to amaze me how well I can hide $h-t!!

Anyway thought I would share this and see how many humorous stories would arise....

Post 'em up guys....

I hope I'm not the only one that will be hiding my own Easter eggs soon....

So we have been looking for a set of Heat / AC control buttons for our '67 GTX. Can't find any anywhere. It's the LAST thing we need to finish the dash.

I'm looking in the garage rafters for our cat (long story) and I see a wiring harness... I pull it out and still attached is a vacuum switch assembly with buttons still attached! Woo Hoo! I am the only one that could have put it there... That's pretty close to hiding my own Easter eggs. LOL

Ive come to the conclusion over these many years that for me, there is no safe place.
Over the years, I've lost money, tools, parts, car keys, wallets, and a 9MM. You name it and I've likely misplaced it.
For some reason nuts & bolts, small parts are the worst and the more important they are the quicker they seem to disappear.
It's irritating and expensive when I have to purchase something to replace whatever I lost only to find it when the project is done.
Now when I do a project, I know for sure that Half the time will be spent looking for stuff that was put in a "Safe Place".
Many years ago I used to have a "Safe Place" where I could find my stuff but I seem to have lost it somewhere.
If any of you guys find it please shoot me a PM let me know.
