i have a 1972 400 bored .030 over roller cam and rockers weiland dual quad tunnel ram milodon 31460 oil pan and high volume oil pump 906 heads ported and polished aluminum water pump bronze dist drive gear never ran i bought it from a guy at work who built it in 1988 in his basement and that is where it stayed i am sure i am missing some important info, have receipts for machine work make me a fair offer

i will am having my son put the pics up, regarding the stroke it has 440 rods i have no idea what to $ ask, like what i said in original ad got it from a guy at work that built it in the late 80s and it sat in his basement ever since i will try to answer questions with the info i have and can get from my co worker

if you have to use google to search for other engines for sale to get an idea
 
One way to get an idea of what it's worth is to do some research on what it costs to build that particular combination with labor and parts cost. Obviously parts and labor are a good deal more than it was in the late 80's but we also have better technology than we did in the 80's. For example, 906 heads don't bring the money they once did because now a days you can buy aftermarket heads that are much better right out of the box and are cost competitive and are not prone to cracking like a fully ported stock casting is. As for a bare 400 block that's clean but not machined....I've seen them go from 100 to 500 bucks! My most recent one went for 275 and had been sonic tested.
