I have an aftermarket six pack hood and the stock hood springs are starting to crack and bow the hood from the high tension.

Does anyone know if aftermarket, low tension springs are made for a 69 B body? If not, would the 70 challenger AAR springs fit?

Not sure if you can see the springs in my pic here but I got mine from penstar reproductions east coast. Give them a call real nice peeps.

Once your hood starts to crack you need to repair before it continues. I would reinforce the Hood with Stainless Steel plate and lay fresh fabric overt the area.

i use fesler gas strut with billet aluminium hood hinges if that helps you out, $900 a pair though

Thanks for all the replies. On a similar note, I had considered converting to a lift off hood. Can someone tell me if the rear hood pin brackets are bolt on, or welded? If they can be bolted on, I might go that route.

Just remove the springs and use a prop rod. Easier than going to lift-off.

I wasn't worried about original stuff and found springs from a hardware store that worked very well.

I have up22 springs , bought with bonnet
I have also used gate springs from the hardware store on other cars

$900! OMG. That's $1600 for a hood, steering wheel, and hinges. There is a disassembled hulk on here for 4500. Hobby is getting expensive.
