I have a 65 coronet that the P.O. painted the entire grille. What's the best way to remove the paint so I can polish it up afterwards? Would that aircraft paint remover work without harming the finish under the paint?

im sure if the po painted the bumper he probably sanded it to give paint and possible primer something to etch into so no matter what the chrome under neath will be harmed in some way that might result in need to be rechromed or paint it chrome and see how it looks. that is what I would expect atleast

Well since it's the "grille" your talking about, use some thinner or acetone to get the paint off. The factory "bright dipped" the grille and so that may have been sanded for paint adhesion. At that point, you'll need to strip the grille to bare aluminum, polish it and then paint the area's that are supposed to be black.

I used carb cleaner on mine worked great didn't harm anything
