Just received a certified letter from Right Stuff Detailing announcing a recall on the Mopar DBSP03 Wheel Spindles purchased between 1-21-2014 and 9-23-2014.
One of their customer's had one that "broke" while the car was sitting in the driveway.

That's fantastic... I always love tearing apart work I just completed. I bought mine during that span.

Man, that guy must live right. Hope he bought a lottery ticket after that...

Well that makes sense why I just received my check back from them. Finally decided to order the conversion kit then got a call from them asking which address they should send the check back to. Going Wilwood now.

Does "The Right Stuff" spindles the same ones that are sold in other kits as well? By different companies?

i'd bet they're the same chinese stuff. i have a set of them on my car but bought them before 2014. maybe i ought to go out in the garage and see if anything is laying on the floor,....lol.

Yeah got my letter as well. As soon as the car gets back from paint I will be removing them and sending them back for the replacements.

Wow, at least it is being caught and fixed. I have a had a spindle break in a race; the forging had a bubble in it and it cracked apart right through the void. Fortunately, it was a slow section of the course.

To all involved in the recall that the folks at Right Stuff do not have any idea when replacements are going to be available. I talked to them a couple days ago and there is no "date" for replacements being available for quite awhile....I also found out if you call them they will send you a shipping slip to cover the cost of sending your old ones back. I told them I will call them at the end of the year to see if replacements are in stock at that time and they said that would be a good plan......

I's too bad the a company like Right Stuff decided to carry what is apparently an inferior product. Luckily I have never used their spindles, but I have bought other parts from them. Their pre-bent and flared brake and fuel line kits seem to be good quality and are huge time savers.

I read a note from Eherenberg about spindles being cast Nodular Iron vs Forgings and they where snapping off. I gues my spare set from a 67 Coronet really is big bucks now!

This stuff worries me. That is if I didn't have good old F body spindles to use instead of high dollar stuff that comes from who knows where.

I see a sticker on my door from the u.s postal service stating that i have a certified letter, please come and pick it up. My mind starts to think o-sh*%!! what did I no know ;-)only to find out its from right stuff ,I figure they want the extra pair of callipers they sent me from the conversion kit . shush don't tell. but no its worse "your spindles that you've been driving on could decide to take a vacation with you at the wheel at any given moment. so take them off your car leave your baby on jack stands for who knows how long . well thank the lord they took the time to contact use all. son of a bitch unbelievable how come this stuff don' monkey see no evil01.jpgt happen to chevy boys ;-)

They said it's a select recall if u get a letter then yeah if not you can call and see if yours is on the list

I just got my letter in the mail today. :angryfire:

On the positive side, they are doing the right thing as a company and you have to respect that. Most of these spindles are probably fine but they are replacing them just in case. If there was one bad one there could be more.

My whine: Now I have to take them off of the car. Separating lower ball joints is a PITA!!!!

My second whine: When will I get new ones? I need the car to be movable soon, and it is kinda hard to do that without spindles...

Everyone that is involved with this recall is pretty much in the same boat.....the "letter" is mis-leading in a way. When I called them I was able to clear up a couple things.
1. If you call them they will send you a shipping tag to mail the old ones back.
2. Wait till they have the new ones in stock and that will keep your "wait" time to a minimum or
3. When they have the new ones in stock you can order a set of new ones and when you return the old ones they will give you a refund on the cost of the new set. This is the best way if having your car sitting on jacks for any period of time is a problem (which it is for most of us). They will not just send out a new set to you till they have the old ones returned...(can't really blame them...)

Ordered my conversion kit from Dr. Diff late last year. Tried to call Cass to verify if these are the ones Right Stuff are selling but he is at SEMA. The spindles are mount on my K but the K isn't mounted to my car yet. Want to clearify if I should be worried or not. Soon, Ill be installi g the K, eninge, trans, as a single unit but want to make sure.
