photo 1.jpg Today, drove 4 hours each way to purchase this 70 Charger 500 for a friend. Solid with cool options, however, no motor/tranny. Not sure what his vision is for this car yet??? Possibly a daytona.

Looks like a great start to a project. good luck with it.

That does look great.

I thought the 500s had a flush rear window.

In 1969 the 500's had the flush mount backlight and grille. In 1970 the 500 name became a generic option. I really dont know what separated it from a regular charger. Bucket seats and a console?
Base model only came with bench sat. Also no upper door pads, wheel moldings or tail light surround.

photo 3.jpg I wish it was a 69 Charger 500!! Thanks hemirebel and hawkeye for your explanation. The back glass was taken out some time ago and was properly stored and in great shape. Really a great start to what might be a race version daytona.

I vote for leaving it a Charger and not a Daytona.
I like it a lot.
I mean isn't a 70 500 sort of rare too?

Nice start on your project. Is this your car or your friends? Had a 70 charger r/t years ago. Still trying to buy it back from the guy I sold it to.

The car belongs to my good friend. He did not have the time to make the trip, therefore, I made it for him. Were always helping each other out as needed. I'm just finishing up with his 70 RTSE Challenger and now moving forward with a 70 Cuda. This Charger 500 is slated to start after the 70 Cuda is done. Lots of projects.
