I purchased a 1976 Cordoba and found at night the gauge lights are very very dim even with the switch turned all the way up.
The A/C and radio lights go bright but not the gauge lights. I purchased a service manual and it states reach behind gauges and chage bulbs this way. There is no way I can get my hands in there. I want to install LEDs in place of the 158 bulbs. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks.

I changed all by bulbs in my 77 Cordoba. It was very simple, just patience is needed. I took the dash apart, cleaned as needed and replaced all the bulbs at once. I have LED's for the outside bulbs but not the dash. I find them too dim looking. We just finished installing LED dash bulbs in a buddies A body Dodge Demon. Too dim for my liking.

To replace the bulbs, start unscrewing every screw you find holding on the dash and trim around it. Its not that many. I always replace the bulb holders as well. They weaken over time with vibrations and age. Cost is minimal. BTW, the dimness could be a worn dimmer switch, which you can find on ebay.

Slepr1---Thanks for the input. I have followed your advise and I still can't get access to the
back of the circuit board with my hands. I am thinking about
putting a hand grenade behind the
dash to get access.

Try lying upside down in drivers seat with head around brake pedal or find smaller hands.

sundance1....why not take the circuit board out of the dash? That's what I did. I had the complete dash assembly on my workbench. No small hands needed.

Slepr-1 Thanks again for respondinmg. I have no idea how to remove the circut board. I am afraid I might screw something. up. I have taken off the front panel with the wood grain decal on it. I see a bunch of white plastic rivits around the instrument cluster. Dont want to break anything. Could you give me some hints as to getting the circut board out with out messing something up? Thanks.
